The Surfside Beaumaris - Beers, Burgers & Beds reviews
21We are at the bar and the burgers were fantastic, as was the service. Would highly recommend if you’re in the area
We’ve been at the restaurant, the staff was so friendly and the food amazing. I had the deluxe burger, so yummy
Stayed here with my wife while we did a lap of Tasmania on our motorcycle trip from Qld. Probably the best value, best food, best view from the bar area and best selection of craft beer on our trip. An easy ride to Bay of Fires and Elephant Pass etc to get some epic riding in too.
Great place, good little bar with gluten-free food and two bays gluten-free beer.
Rooms were nice.
Cheap and cheerful accommodation with the basics. Clean as a whistle and a comfy bed. The restaurant/bar is definitely affordable to relax and enjoy a few drinks. The food is awesome.
Staff were lovely and really helpful. Thanks for a great stay
Great for an overnight stay with fantastic burgers in the evening. The beach across the road was empty as far as the eye could see in both directions, simply heaven!
The shower was dissappointing, had a water reducing head on it that makes you shower for way longer to get clean.
We came here for dinner one night while staying in Beaumaris. Epic burgers, cold beers and a great vibe.
Best burgers on the east coast. I always try and get lunch here whenever I end up on the east coast.
Things you need to know if you stay here:
Bring your own hand towel, face washer, shampoo, conditioner, body wash and bug spray. They don’t provide any of these.
They only provide one pillow per person.
The windows aren’t double glazed.
The burgers are excellent.
Brilliant no nonsense service and food offering for both burger fans and not so much. Burgers served up were tasty Ad staff accommodated changes easily.
I stayed for three nights in the group accommodation, mixed dorm room. The space was nice and had it’s own kitchen. Enjoyed my stay, it’s very peaceful in this area. Great beer selection at the restaurant
Two things of note - 1) pretty inconvenient if you’re a backpacker like me without a car, it’s an hours walk to the nearest town or shops of any kind, or you’ll need to hitchhike. 2) make sure you know there’s no wifi!
Best customer service and exemplary care!
Beautiful stays here.the staff all go out of there way to ensure the highest standards of care and consideration.
Will always come back just for the whole magical experience ️
Great clean place to stay. The burgers and chips were great they were really busy with extra customers that weren't staying. We will start again when next in Tassie.
Best poke bowl I have ever had! The fresh tuna was outstanding. Thank you for providing a healthy option. The whole experience was awesome- friendly service, great relaxed atmosphere & excellent views. Thank you for a fantastic dinner experience (-:
Nice budget hotel with an amazing view. The restaurant offers great burgers as well. One point of improvement would be the mattresses, they had metal springs in them, making them pretty uncomfortable.
Wonderful place to unwind on Tasmania's East coast. Just meters away from a gorgeous and mostly empty beach that is well separated from the road (dog friendly - just make sure to protect the bird wildlife).
The rooms were modern and light. We found them a bit small for our extended stay that included remote work. Also, they miss practical features (like hangers for jackets or even a little rug in the bathroom). Also, be aware that WiFi is not working reliably if at all in the rooms. We resorted to tethering on Telus cell phone (Vodafone does not have coverage).
The best point for last: Super friendly staff (although aroiund only in the evenings) and the best burgers we got in all of Tasmania - in particular the chicken burger!
This place was one of our highlights on our month long road tour in Tasmina. Thanks so much!
Was so excited to be going here with the family as I visit from the mainland! Waited over 1hour for food.that be ok except all tables ordering before us received there’s …. The received burnt chicken in the burgers.but was told that’s what fried chicken looks like! Honestly it looked no better the replacement meal bought out! Very disappointed.the staff member so rude. NOT IMPRESSED AT ALL
Takeaway order placed over the phone and turns out it’s sent by sms to the hotel. No one had checked the mobile and it was missed, was told it would take 15mins, they apologised, waited another 40mins for an average burger. Pretty unwelcoming staff at counter.
The place overlooks the sea! Lobby has a nice vibe but not very happening when we arrived. Room is clean and spacious, beds are comfy. What’s odd is the cold air blowing in the washroom so it’s cold when you are done showering. Also note that they don’t provide wifi so come prepared.
