The Springs Wellington Park reviews
48Great spot to start your Kunanyi hiking/biking adventures or alternatively great spot to have a break/coffee before heading all the way up. Numerous trails start/end at the Springs. Parking can be limited on busy days (weekends/holidays).
Couldn't head up the hill due to snow. But we could still do some little hikes. There is a look out.
I like that little cafe for our good break before proceeding our further climbing to mount Wellington
Beautiful spot to start many of the walks on the mountain.
Visit the cafe for a great coffee.
It's a nice place to visit. For a short walk go to sphynx lookout.
For a 2h walk consider going to Junction cabin along the Lenah Valley track and then the north-south track back.
If it has rained a lot before you go it may be hard to find a park since all of the influencers will be up there going to visit the disappearing tarn.
The road to Wellington Park was closed at The Spring Wellington Park. As there is no parking spaces, the traffic was very slow, it took about half an hour to travel 2km.the road is also too small for such a popular site. Single toilet for men or women. Icy cold, wet and slippery around the resting area. Make your plan well, don’t go there on a public holiday.
Absolutely stunning scenery and many different walks on offer! Bit misty though, which covered the views!
Nice & easy walking trail. Parking & toilets available. Cute little coffee shop with very friendly service. The cinnamon star cookies are really good!
Great place to start a mountain bike ride! Toilet facilities, small cafe. Gets very busy when there's snow so parking can be a problem. Also a great place to set off on a round trip track to the top.
Great start for many of the walks on Mt Wellington. Car parking. Toilets. 'Lost Freight' Cafe (closed Tuesdays)

Good place to stop and rest between hikes — toilets and coffee place with food available. Had a pie and a brownie:). Parking can be quite full at times!
We had a light snow the day we went up, which was a bonus.
Lots of walking & bike trails to explore.
Glorious big fire in the stone hut, a hot coffee & light snacks available also.
It was a 4 hour trek to the top, as the road was closed because of the snow.
Amazing views and casual walking trails around the cafe. Parking can be difficult at peak times.
If you are lucky, this is the furthest you will be able to drive up the mountain if there is even a little bit of snow on the top, as they close the gates when it does.
On the road up to Mt Wellington, the Springs has few car parks where you can grab a bite to eat at Lost Freight. The setting is amongst tall trees and is a junction for many trails that meander all over the mountainside. People who live in the area, stop here while out walking their dogs.
Beautiful as always ️ such a peaceful place, to relax, unwind and rejuvenate. Having loads of different adventures every time.
Beautiful place to visit. Roads often get closed during snowfall so better to check first before making plan to go. Good parking on top of the hill. No restaurants or BBQ facilities so bring your own food. Drive is pretty good, good trail walks, feel so fresh while walking. Not too far from city.
