Had to wait ages for our food, heating wasn't on? Folk sitting eating with jackets & scarves on,? Why the hell would we want to do that really? , gone down hill i think, 8 ball room being renovated for such a long time, we won't rush back, other warmer places to eat at, competition is healthy, all the best, hope you make some changes for suvival
WELL NO REPLY FROM MANAGEMENT, OR MR MACKENZIE, THE OWNER?
Well went back 7pm sat night for a beer, walking past with friends, tried to play 8 ball, 2 Tables, one white ball, table in small room, had builders dust over it, THEY RENT THE Tables, I was told by staff, windows were filthy, whole place was dusty, not many there? Didn't even finish our beers, drove to the Mersh pub, drinks food, 8 ball, good luck at the Irish,
HOPE MANAGEMENT READ THE REVIEWS, & MAKE CHANGES, lots of competition out there $$$

They cram 500+ people into the smallest space. Impossible to get through the crowd, and takes 30 minutes plus to order a drink. Staff appear inconvenienced to take your order and its too loud to hear staff. Would not recommend.

This place is amazing! It's really good for meals but each night they always have someone playing usually, and the music makes it a better atmosphere to be around. Let alone the staff

Came in for the $15 steak on Wednesday, and stupidly, I didn't book. The staff was willing to accommodate us.
Beautifully perfectly cooked medium rare porterhouse with mushroom and pepper sauce respectively. A pint of Guinness is a must in an Irish bar!

Really good. A few blokes tried to extend St Patties day by about a month but apart from that the staff were great and the venue is good.

Had an early dinner at The Irish, the staff were lovely and accommodating for dietaries. Meals were great, Guinness was better. Cosy pub with indoor and outdoor seating

Didn't have table set up apon arival after booking a table.
- Arived at 7pm for pizza night.
- They sprayed the table not the wipe and it bounced off the table and splashed onto my partner who used to get chemical rashes.
- Not impressed with so far
- Mood of workers is dismal from the start of the night as well.female has the face of pure death as she shines glasses.
- 1 Pizza has been sitting under the heaters for 15 minutes, the other waiting 10minutes.how long does it take for a waiter to pick them up and walk 5 paces to a table. I saw them looking at it and going to stack straws.
- Male waiter did however offer to make a new pizza once I asked about how long they were sitting up there for.
- My Partner is a experienced waitress and kitchen hand if you need a supervisor let me know as she will correct the staff. May also need a 3rd waiter if you don't want a clean professional team.numbers will do the job.
Ps; Pizza was good, thankyou chef

I won't comment on the pub/drinking experience because I never partook, but their food is surprisingly amazing! Special mention to the fries which I think are the best I've had in Launceston.
If you go there for their steak or parmi deals, trust me, you will question how this joint breaks even because there is no compromise in quality or taste. The restaurant experience and service will not swoop you off your feet, but it has the "my trusty local pub" feel to it which you will appreciate and love.
Give The Irish a chance, you won't regret it.

Passing through Launceston on our trip around Tas and visited this pub. Wouldn't be going back in a rush. Food was only OK, nothing to write home about. We were the only Irish there and were met by some rude, seemingly usual young crowd of the bar who asked us the leave the area as there was a 21st birthday on at 10pm, and threw ice across the smoking area at us. Not fun. Wouldn't be associating it with Irish pubs as this is NOT the welcoming spirit of 99 percent of Irish pubs abroad.

The food is really good, but one of the waiter is really rude at a time we were here, not only to us, but most of the table.

Great food, excellent service. Staff were friendly & helpful. Food - Daily specials and normal menu are good value and the food is excellent quality - the veggies are delicious. Scotch fillet medium rare cooked perfect and a huge chicken Parma. Service was quick and staff pleasant. You will not be disappointed.

The food was very disappointing. I ordered the Irish stew. It appeared with two pieces of toast (nothing like the pic online) no butter and supper watery. More of a soup that a stew.
The restaurant part had a weird smell. I will not be returning or recommending this place for food.

We were a party of 4 friends from Melbourne, of diverse backgrounds, I was originally from Malaysia, another friend from Italy, and one from Hong Kong and another from Macau, but we are all Australian citizens, and Melbourne had been our home for several decades. We visited Tassie towards the end of Jan 2021, having a great, wonderful time enjoying our holidays and each other's company, in such a beautiful state like Tassie. On our Launceston leg, we were unfortunate enough to come upon some "racist" and "you are not welcome here" attitude from several waitstaff at The Irish Pub! They refused to acknowledge our calls for service, pretended not to see our constant wave of hands, even when one of us walked to the counter, we were told off rudely they were busy with other customers, but after 15mins they still do not want to serve us, chatting behind the counter most of the time. We asked to speak to the Manager, and they asked us to wait again, after 10mins and continue to ignore us. When the air cond was too cold and blowing directly on our face, we requested for it to be lowered or turn off as it was quite cold on that evening, but one of the staff rudely told my Italian friend, we cant turn off the aircond just for you, you will need to move to another table, so we moved. But during dinner, another 3 local girls asked the waitress to turn off the aircond, she did it without any question! The whole evening the wait staff continued to ignore us, eventually when we got up to leave, only then they called out to us to pay our bill, then my Macau friend said to them, "Oh, now you see us! " The Manager we spoke to said he is also the Chef there and although apologetic, he refused to ask his wait staff to apologise to us, which is not very good "customer recovery". We will definitely NOT BE BACK!
