This is one of the most amazing and beautiful camp grounds in the world. The views from the river, looking south along the beach are absolutely breathtaking. How fortunate are we that Di and Ian open their property to us for us to enjoy. HUGE thanks to all of the wonderful people we met here too between Christmas and NY 2022/23. An especially massive thanks to all of our camping neighbours who saved our caravans and awnings when a 100KM/h wind blast roared through whilst we were blissfully in Bicheno enjoying a coffee.
Honestly, this place spoils you for the rest of the world, and again.a humungous thanks to the very witty Di and her gentleman of a husband; Ian who always go out of their way to make sure everyone is safe and well cared for.

Remember to smile, and give thanks whenever possible. Life is too short.

Owners of this campsite absolute sour faced and pathetic towards business most certainly worth the extra 15m drive to next campsite. Not worth the confrontation.

The campground, despite showing up on Google as looking like a public ground, is privately run by people in a house nearby. We spent ages just trying to figure it out and then was greeted insanely rudely by the people who run the ground. Call ahead I guess if you can but just a preempt to people like us fumbling around for a campground that it's not a public site at all

There is no campsite here. If you gone, you would waste at least 2 hours in your lifetime.

As one who has travelled to most continents over a 50 year period and stayed at hundreds if not thousands of campsites i feel that i am experienced enough to comment on this campsite.
The campsite is a top spot with with swimming in both fresh and saltwater, surf fishing and fresh water is available.
However, the operators of this site treat customers like dirt with sharp and at times abusive replies which must shock travellers. Even loyal customers who have had permanent sites in excess of forty years are treated the same way, how do they put up with it?
My rating for the site 9 - 10
My rating for the operators 0- 10
If you can put up with being treated like this then come and enjoy this natural site, if not, then travel on and find someone who appreciates your business.

Great water hole for a swim in fresh water only a 10 minute walk from car park. If you wanted to go to the gorge its another 2.5 hours return. Need parks pass.

Very rude lady at reception, no customer service skilles what so ever. Even a hello out of her seamed like an effort. Reception back of un maintained farmhouse. Wouldn’t stay here even if paid me.

Improvement hint: don't answer the phone with 'hello' followed by silence when a customer calls. I even had to ask if this is the campground number because you lady on the phone didn't say anything for another 5 sec. Also say 'thank you fir your call' at the end of a conversation with a customer. Showing a bit of appreciation for others being interested in your campground might make a big difference. Thanks for reading this.
