The Bays Kitchen reviews
67On holidays from Brisbane and popped in here for morning tea. The service and food was absolutely sensational. The girl who served us was extremely professional while also being super bubbly and friendly. I had the scallop gratin which was pretty much the greatest thing I've ever eaten. I highly recommend this place!
Lovely cafe for food! So happy we stopped here. So much selection of fresh food and great service. Had the satay chicken panini and loved it! In all honesty I struggled to choose what to eat because everything looked so delicious. The lady serving us was also very polite, helpful and hospitable! I wish I got her name.
Flake and chips, and chicken sandwiches fir my partner and I. Curiously the pre-packaged chicken Ken salad sandwich contained mustard pickles. The fish was barely cooked and seemingly cooked in under temperature oil. Chips were OK tatare sauce was tepid and tasteless.
Food and service were incredible. The cashier was the sweetest lady and can’t say enough about the *BIG* breakfast. Delicious!
I ordered the Tasmanian scallops and chips. The chips were super crispy as I believe it's been double fried and a Passionfruit gelato thickshake. There was a generous serving of scallops think we got 10 small scallops altogether and plenty of chips and tartar sauce. I wish the gelato shake had less milk. It didn't have much taste of the Passionfruit at all, sadly I think the milk ratio was definitely higher and over powered the gelato.
After lunch both my sister and I had diarrhea, not sure if it was the thickshake or the food? She had the loaded fries and a thickshake Maybe we just got unlucky.
We visited this cozy cafe in St Helens over the Easter break. From the moment we walked in we were greeted with a warm & inviting staff. The decor was charming & simple. Despite nearing closing time the lady taking care of our order, was friendly & attentive, making sure we were comfortable.
The menu offered a wide array of pastries & light bites along with coffee/tea, Milkshakes & Gelatos.
In addition to great food & drinks, the cafe had a comfortable seating area indoors & outdoors making it a perfect spot for a relaxing break from sight seeing.
Absolutely beautiful food. You can taste the love in every dish. Very good value for your money. Customer service is top notch. I can’t wait to come back
Absolutely rude staff and wasting of time here. We wait for more than 50 mins for our food. And we wanna chase up how long further we need to wait for. The old woman with grey hair just keep telling us as soon as the buzzer rings up. Excuse me? They don’t even apologize for the long waiting time. We ordered seafood chowder and they served us a bowel of chowder without any seafood but only bacon and very watery soup. We pay the same price yesterday at different restaurants and order seafood chowder with plenty seafood and very creamy soup. Wouldn’t recommend any tourists to come over here. Disappointed. BTW, they don’t even have table water.
Really enjoyed our lunch sitting out the front of this cafe on a nice day. Excellent food and quick service.
This place has so much to choose from! I can't believe how many yummy things there are. I could spend a day in here. And they're very affordable!
Had a stop off here for lunch, got some loaded fries and clam chowder, both were delicious. Crispy chips and a tasty topping, chowder served with warm buttered bread. Service was prompt even though the restaurant was quite busy. Staff were smiley and pleasant, glad we chose this place for lunch!

Generous food portions, customer service was excellent. The raspberry with white choc smoothie was very yummy. Overall, a nice place to visit.
We visited this little Cafe today and hands the best customer service and menu I have seen for a long time! So well stocked and the menu variety is outstanding. The young lady behind the counter is beautiful cheerful and friendly. Our food was amazing! Can highly recommend!
Great food, very nice people and good prices. We had a very good experience here. 100% recommended!
Delicious smoked salmon and Brie roll which had a large amount of salmon. Very filling. Their sweet potato and spinach frittata was first class as well. Their espresso has a distinctive style, earthy with sweetness. The staff were very friendly and happy.
Lovely little Cafe in the middle of town in St helens. Great coffee, helpful staff, great atmosphere, highly recommend. 5 star
Best bacon and eggs ever. Generous serving size, perfectly cooked.
They have white bread option too. Hallelujah!
Coffee ok, but not the best I've had.
Prices reasonable, staff friendly.
Seems pretty popular on a cold, wet and dreary Sun morning in the depths of winter. That must say something.
As a local i can say it is by far the best cafe in Tasmania and ive been to most. Try the seafood chowder for an amazing experience
Best breakfast Caffe I have ever been to. Was recommended to me by a local and didn't disappoint!
The largest BIG BREKKIE in Australia! 4 eggs, 4 sourdough toasts, 4 rashers, 2 large hash browns, homemade baked beans, mushrooms, spinach and a bratwurst sausage. Easily enough for two.
