Tasmanian Travel & Information Centre reviews
53 Hobart has many interesting historic buildings, government, pubs, Constitution Dock where the annual Sudney to Hobart sailing boat race finishes. Saturdays the Salamanca street stalls have a wide range of goods to buy. Enjoy a coach trip to the top of the mountain range. Visit the Female Factory and other prisons, to gain an insight into the lives of prisoner's shipped out from UK.
Visit the spectacular vertical rock columns erupting from the sea at Eaglehawke Neck.
Enjoy the history of Hobart and surrounding area.

Knowledgeable tour of Hobart district obviously lots of walking but all very easily managed. The tour guide was careful to make sure we all kept together and crossed safely along the roads as needed.
Tour went for an hour and a half.
It was really informative and we did enjoy it. Only downside was at the end of the tour, he left us in a different spot than where we started from, nothing that maps couldn’t fix for us
Amazing! Such a great space and the people working there were full of great information and so incredibly helpful! Thank you so much to the people who gave us a full half hour of their time at closing. We will come back again when we have more time!
KiKi and Gio have been soooo helpful, personable, friendly and the best Customer service I have received in a long time.
Many thanks to you both!
Warmest,
Carmen (rural northeast Vic)
People are lovely. They are also busy trying to help every tourist they see. Post cards and other Good quality stuffs to buy for souvenir. I really like their Fridge magnets. Special thanks to Adi who approached and assisted me very well. Cheers!
Huge shoutout to Brad! Customer service 10/10, hands down! This young man is so suited to the job of promoting Tasmania. Whatever your interests, he will assist at putting together a great itinerary. If in doubt about what to do in Tasmania, make this your first stop!
Casey has been absolutely brilliant at helping us plan and book are travel arrangements around Tasmania in Mar-Apr 2023
We had a great experience at the visitor center in Hobart. Brad helped us to do multiple car bookings and gave us some great tips on what to do around Hobart. He was super kind and patient with us. Thank you Brad!
Superb service. Adi customised an itinerary and activity suggestions after phoning us in New Zealand. Excellent information and no fees.
They guide you to tour Tasmania. Polite and cooperative staff. Inside it there is a skybus machine by which you can book skybus tickets.
We called in around the 27th of February, I spoke to a male staff member (Gary?) about scallop pies. He gave us the information for a pie outlet in Cambridge.
We managed to eat 9 scallop pies, 8 curry and 1 mornay. We prefer the curry by far over the mornay. We also had a crayfish pie, that was close second to the Cambridge pie. We had them from Beaconsfield, St Helen’s, Richmond Bridge, Hobart, Cambridge, Stanley (both scallop and crayfish) Ulverstone, Deloraine, and lastly East Devonport. They were all very tasty and the pastry varied but we decided that the hotter and fresher they were the better. As an example the pie in Deloraine was not hot enough and lacked the crisp pastry, also if the curry sauce was too strong and or watery. I’m being very picky! But we enjoyed our little side adventure of finding and eating scallop pies around Tasmania. Thanks, cheers Julie and Laurie
Very friendly staffs and they will guide to the right tourist attractions in Tasmania where you wish to go
Starting point for any bus tour you choose either for Wellington mountain or city loop. Handy information centre
We got some good information here. We are very grateful for the helpfulness and expertise of the staff. I can definitely recommend!
Really good place to get some informations in all Tasmania.
The staff is really friendly and helpful.
Thank you!
Everyone in this office is lovely and helpful with great local knowledge. Can't thank Rosie enough for her patience with us on two separate days, when we realised there was too much to do on too short a stay, and tried to fit as much as we could in. Then tried to fit more in and wanted to change a booking if possible. Rosie sorted it all with good humour and we had a brilliant Hobart stay.
Thank you to Rosie for being so patient and nice with us. She helped us booking a car making the whole process very easy.
They are more interested in selling you tickets to buses and cruises, but when you say I want to walk around they give you a map and say this has all the historic buildings! Never seen tourist information like that
Top stars for a top team - Brad, Joshua & Alan. I was keen to get to Bonorong Wildlife Park, but shuttle bus all booked for a couple of days. (No info found on the Bonorong website in regards to Shuttle bus option.)
Reason to return at a later date to what I/we couldn't do.
So love Tassie & a nice change from a northern state!
Brad is incredible! So helpful and lovely and practically planned our entire trip in 10 mins. Amazing service. Would tip him if he would accept it! Give this man a pay rise!
