We had the opportunity to do the Salt Sommelier experience at Tasman Sea Salt. Was really impressed by the tour and the whole set up. The team is so knowledgable. I have such a new appreciation for salt. Highly recommend.

What a delight to meet people so enthusiastic about what they do and so keen to share their experience! From the intricate engineering of salt evaporation using the sea’s thermal mass through to the thrilling difference a few grains of salt make to a chocolate truffle, this experience on the picturesque East Coast was truly absorbing. And the salt is delicious!

What a delightful and informative experience this was! We were already converted to Tasman Sea Salt but the Salt Sommelier experience showed us why!
Many thanks to Chris and Alice for showing us the way.

A wonderful afternoon finding out all about salt. Both guides were very knowledgeable and the food and salt pairing was excellent. Mayfield Estate is the perfect venue for this. Highly recommend the Salt Sommelier. Thanks Chris and Alice

We so enjoyed our time at Sea Salt. Chris led an informative, fun and enjoyable experience.
We loved our salt platters and paired wines, but most of all we learned so much. Highly recommend, Gordon and Karen

Our Salt Sommelier experience at Tasman Sea Salt was the highlight of our east coast weekend.
Chris gave a thrilling tour of the salt works, which is in the most idyllic location following which, Alice's bites, knowledge and stories really brought home how lucky we were to be there that day, to hear the story of a family business that is producing a unique and outstanding product that is also completely of its place. As I mentioned to Chris and Alice, we were particularly impressed by their use of local seafood in the tasting menu.

The Tasman Salt Sommelier Experience could not have been better. We will highly recommend this tour to our guests. An excellent opportunity to learn about the science behind this natural farming practice, and the art form of using salt to make food taste better! Two slightly different topics that will surely satisfy all curiosities of a group. The innovation and foresight from this couple is commendable! The location is stunning, the information provided on the tour is excellent, the taste testing and wine.you can not go wrong. I could keep writing, but you are better to see it for yourself! Great job Alice and Chris.

I highly recommend the Salt Sommelier at Little Swanport. Really interesting talking to the engineering section who generously answered all our detailed questions. Then up to the nice new winery cellar door for the salt tasting and food pairing.

Excellently well researched tasting session, very interesting and the tastings were delicious and pairings surprising.

Salt has such an interesting history, and thanks for the book recommendation: Salt, a world history by Mark Kurlansky.

You have made us much more salt adventurous. Thanks.

It would be great to have a link to the recipe for the pumpkin taster. Yummo.

Great experience! Wonderful to hear Chris and Alice's story of how they came to be doing what they do and to see the details for ourselves. Beautiful surroundings and gained a greater appreciation of salt!

We recently visited Tasman Sea Salt for the tour and tasting. It was a definate highlight of our trip to Tassie.
Both Chris and Alice made the experience informative and enjoyable. As farmers ourselves we were fully immersed from the production to the tasting side!
The tasting was delicious and gave a fabulous insight to how salt lifts and compliments so many foods. We were presenting with a platter each with so many locally sourced delectables paired with Tasman Sea Salt!
The location was spectacular by the sea at the packing shed and in the tasting room at Mayfield Estate.
We will definitely be telling our friends to add this experience to their next trip to Tasmania. Thank-you Chris and Alice.we loved it! Ann & Andrew (from Northern NSW)

Thanks Alice, I am a local Swansea resident and I love the pepper berry salt you make. I love it so much I have sent it to a friend in Katherine, for her to enjoy the taste, the colour and to experience Great Oyster Bay Salt with endemic Pepper Berry flavour on food. Keep experimenting! And offering beautifully packed products for the world to enjoy! (you both do us proud!).

Really enjoyed the tasting experience. An awesome way to teach people about both how the salt is made and how it affects the food we eat.

It was a great tour to see how this local business produces natural sea salt in a sustainable way. Definitely an eye opener. Alice is a very good story teller about salt and the small bites were presented to bring out the specialness of the Tasman sea salt range. The Mayfield wines paired really well with the bites.definitely telling my friends about it!

Such a wonderful experience and gives a whole new appreciation for salt. The story of a successful business and in such a beautiful part of Tassie's east coast, and the delicious tasting spread makes for a wonderful afternoon.

Excellent customer service in that emails were responded to quickly and items were posted out (and delivered) within a few days from Tassie to Victoria. Many thanks for a terrific product.
I think the boxes of salt work as a perfect gift as it's Australian made, gluten free, dairy free, FODMAP friendly, vegan, and also sugar free. It's a gift that doesn't need dusting or to be displayed. It's also very easy to wrap and light to send.

I think I may need to order some more.

A wonderful experience that is both fun and educational. We had a mixed group with a healthy level of scepticism going in, but we left as 100% salt ambassadors! Alice and Chris are lovely, intelligent and engaging as hosts and tour guides, and the tasting venue - Mayfield Estate - is stunning, with top quality wine to boot. Highly recommended.

Fantastic Salt. Very "Minerally" for the lack of a better description, and a very pleasant flavour. The Pepper Berry infused salt is delicious and adds another level to sandwiches and salads. Dispatched and delivered to Country Victoria within 4 days.
Highly recommend giving it a try.

We had a very informative tour of Tasman Salt. We both can not speak highly enough of our wonderful experience. We learned so much not only on the tour but also during the delicious tasting. The tasting was a great way to wrap up the tour and we are both using the salt we purchased at home. Keep up the great work:)
