A serendipity moment. Recommended by the lady in the roadhouse-my lucky day.
Sue and Chris have created something special here, hand built by Chris and lovingly decorated with fascinating nicknacks and books of local interest. Chris is a mine of information, especially re the Tassie tiger.
Beautiful outlook, great breakfast-even a bottle of wine.
I stayed an extra night and hope to return.

Tarkinese Embassy is the ideal accommodation if you are looking to stay in a 'home away from home', all aspects have been thought out, close to the centre of town & places of interest. Terrific hosts who can't do enough.
Highly recommended.

What a wonderful place to stay and relax. The tigers den is beautifully decorated with lots of interesting and historic features to enjoy. Sue and Chris are great hosts and take special care of their guests. Highly recommend staying here and enjoying an amazing part of Tasmania’s history. We will be back.

The cosy and comfortable cabin that Chris and Sue have lovingly built is a terrific place to stay. In the small town of Waratah it embraces the local history with photos, vintage items and books to leaf through. A quiet retreat to enjoy or as a base to explore this corner of Tassie. Great supplies for brekky and tea and coffee options.

Chris and Sue were amazing hosts. When we arrived they showed us around the cottage and made sure we felt welcome. They have a beautiful excited puppy named Saphy and she got along really well with our puppy. We had a lovely time. The cottage was clean and had lots of very thoughtful touches to it. It is about 10 minutes walk to the beautiful Waratah town centre where you can view a beautiful waterfall and some platypus and ducks in the dam. It is located only 42 minutes away from Cradle Mountain, which unfortunately is not dog friendly, making this an excellent place to stay with your dog. We highly recommend the Tarkinese Embassy to anyone travelling around Tasmania.

Highly recommended! We found this to be by far the nicest place we stayed on our recent road trip. The owners have packed so much love, care and history into the beautifully laid out, appointed and provisioned accommodation. We arrived to find a fire burning and supplies we never expected to receive. Owners are hospitable and charming. Waratah is a great place to explore as well.

A comfortable, cosy and lovingly handbuilt self contained cabin "tigers den". Hosts Sue and Chris go above and beyond to look after their guests. Breakfast supplies provided, a library of resources about the local area, and beautifully presented place. This is the heart of the Tarkine and well worth a visit.
