Taras Richmond Farmstay reviews
14We had a wonderful stay at Kim and Sharon's farmstay in early April. Super welcome and service. Lovely cottage with everything needed and more. Terrific breakfast with fresh bread, home made jam, fresh eggs to cook how you like. Good location short drive to Richmond Village (bakery is fab) and good base for day tripping. A delightful haven to return to at the end of a day of adventures. Best place we stayed in Tassie, were sad to leave. We three Kiwis highly recommend.
My children enjoyed their stay there especially the animal feeding session where we can come up close to the animals. We manage to feed the sheep, 2 horses, an alpaca, and some hens. Hosts Sharon and Kim were friendly, and we enjoyed the morning piping warm toast for breakfast. There is a mini play area where the children jumped on a trampoline, slide across a mini zipline, and sat on the swings. Accommodation is well-maintained for a farm-cottage. Overall a good experience!
What a lovely, home-like and tranquil place! Our family had a wonderful experience of staying in this Farmstay. The owner Sharon & Kim were so attentive and caring each of their guests! I will definitely recommend this accomodation to my friends
We absolutely loved our farmstay. The cabin felt like brand new with modern decor, it was spacious, clean and had absolutely anything we could need. The hosts were kind and helpful, and you can tell the farmstay is a labour of love. The free range chickens wandered around outside the cabin to our children's delight, and there's a gorgeous creek at the back that you can walk to. A lovely touch is the breakfast basket delivered in the morning with freshly baked bread, homemade jam, eggs from the choices, cereals, coffee and yoghurts. Richmond is a lovely town with the plenty to do for adults and kids alike, and I'm so glad we stayed here.
We paid extra to do the animal feeding with Sharron, and it was worth every cent. The animals were absolutely beautiful, and it was an experience that the kids and adults all loved. It comes with my highest recommendation!
So welcoming! Woke up to beautiful fresh hot bread each morning. Always checking we had everything we needed.
Wonderful! Sharon and Kim were so lovely, the cottage was immaculate, the breakfast superb, and the animals had us and our children absolutely charmed. Could not fault a thing. Highly recommended!
Enjoyed our stay. The priorities for us were quiet location, comfortable beds and enough space to start our holiday. In these respects faultless.
We appreciated the friendly hosts and breakfasts along with feeding the the farm animals. Highly recommend.
Brilliant breakfast service. Our 7 and 9 year old loved the feeding and the position is perfect for exploring the southern region of tazzie. Jim and Sharon were very accommodating and assistive. Highly recommended for families
Nice and lovely place
Fresh eggs and bread
Big big recommend for their jams it was so good
Our children loved the close interaction with the farm animals. The host Sharron was a real animal lover, imparted great knowledge to our children to respect animals. We learnt a lot during the morning animal farm feeding (not easy to be a farmer).
Cottage was clean and very well equipped, beds were comfortable. DVDs, books and Monopoly board games for the family.
Daily breakfast prepared in a basket was interesting. We only had to cook our own eggs in the morning.
Location is great. 5 mins to rustic Richmond town and less than 30mins to Hobart city.
Idyll, serene cottage life, facilities well thought and equipped, feeding alpacas, horse and merino memorable experience, kind reception, a good value for price
Excellent property to stay at whilst travelling in Tasmania. Cabins are incrediably nice and the scenary is lovely.
Its a working hobby farm so you can go feed the animals of a morning after a continental breakfast including a freshly baked loaf of bread (ours was still hot).
Owners are very passionate about their animals
Great service, fresh warm bread for breakfast with fresh eggs also. Loved the farm tour and feeding the animals even more so than the kids did lol. Cozy cottages with a modern country feel.so close to Richmond village and it's beautiful attractions.
