Swan River Camping reviews
8It was extremely busy, possibly due to locals having booked all the campsites months ahead, at the National Park months in advance, allowing them to visit at their leisure for extended periods. This left many sites unoccupied, leaving tourists like us with no choice but to camp at Swan River, where the sole amenity was an old toilet. It's puzzling how such a situation is allowed to persist.
Super awesome! Free, you can have a camp fire in the provided pits, incredible sunsets and has a drop toilet! As far as the other comments go, it is not this campsite’s fault that some people are loud or leave garbage. It’s FREE, beautiful and obviously cared for by many. Thank you!
We stayed here for one night so we could do our hikes at Freycinet. It is a top spot and free. There was heaps of room while we were here and we could fit our 26ft caravan in easy, it did get busier after we arrived and came back in the late afternoon. We felt completely safe leaving our caravan here! The toilets are very smelly (BYO toilet paper) and going out for a walk along the water was lovely.

I will never understand what people are thinking when they arrive at a campsite at 7,8,9pm and then leave early slamming their doors on the way out. It was packed. The toilet was like some sort of Monty Python skit. But the lake was just breathtaking
Great free little campsite, first come first serve. Best to arrive and set up before 6pm (Jan). Can become quite packed. Drop toilet is average. Beautiful short walk to the water.
Water: can be refilled on Harold St playground in town.
Toilets: visitor centre at Freycinet very clean.
It's a good free camping space, not a lot of spaces (especially ones with shade) so get in early if it's during a long weekend etc. Beach is a little swampy but the name does give it away 'Swan river. ' We camp with a dog so was good for us as closest we could get to Coles Bay for the night
Calme, friendly et de beaux sunset depuis la bay.
Point négatif pour les toilettes. Lors de notre passage, il y avait d'énormes remontés d'égouts. Pas super agréable
