St Helens Bakery reviews
29This little place is a gem! The staff are friendly and delivered our coffee to the table even though we ordered takeaway. The hot food was tasty, the cakes delicious and the the coffee was nice and hot.
Great little bakery in the town good variety of goods make up what I wanted for us coffee shop to hot and cold food
Looks good from the outside but unfortunately this is the only positive thing I have to say, very average pies and the staff are the rudest bunch of old white ladies you've ever met. Struggle to say hello and when asking flavours of pies (no signs) ect you are made to feel like a burden, go across the road to banjo's
Omg cheapest best burgers in Tasmania. Chicken hawing buger $9. Couldn't eat it all. Great chips too.
Traditional Australian cheap and cheerful. Good for hot chips, salad rolls and drinks. Also 1990 style coffee if that's your thing.
Gem of a bakery. The range of bakery sweets is fantastic, some really different delicious treats! All made on site. Cheap, fresh egg and bacon roll great also.
This is an excellent bakery with competitive pricing, make bread rolls to order quick and polite service.
Absolutely horrible place to go, got there at 12 for lunch they refused to cook anything fresh and the burgers from the bain marie must have been sitting there for days they were cold and hard.
All is very good and fresh!
The prices are more than reasonable!
Good customer service, we left the place full and happy.
Thank you! (:
Today I went to here order fish and chip. The fish test like mix with chicken nuggets, and having this bone like chicken bone. After that I couldn’t eat anymore!
And I ask staff what is this. She just said she don’t know what is because come from factory.
No gonna come here anymore.
Had high expectations given the reviews, ended up somewhat disappointed. It’s just average, not bad but not good. Scallop pie was flavourless and soggy, bacon and eggs on toast at $15 for two cheap supermarket white bread slices, warmed through bacon, eggs and sachet tomato sauce and butter was outrageously poor value. This was roadside diner quality at double the price. Normally one to refrain from writing negative reviews, however compelled to share my experience - keep your expectations in check.
Yesterday in here I was very lucky I didn't smash my teeth, yet again.
First time was pieces of rock hard contamination in a pie, second time was a large hunk of bone hiding in a sausage roll & as reported by another, shell pieces in scallop pies. If you're going to buy in here, go easy or your smile will be just a fond memory.
What a wonderful experience a sitdown breakfast of scrambled eggs and tomoto for me with a terrific coffee. All served with a smile and no fuss. So many other great offerings as well, big breakfast which must have been massive, as I had an absolute platefull with my choice and it only $10 (see photo). Lots of different breads on offer as well as pies pasties and other savouries, sandwiches ready to go and made to order. Of course all the sweet things you usually see in a bakery were available as well. YUM Thankyou once again for a great start to a long day.
Great bakery with a good selection as well as the famous curry scallop pie. Friendly service
We ordered 3 veggie burgers today, all of them came out cold. Just the patty was warm, buns not even toasted. Totally cold. I asked the girl about it and she microwaved the burgers making them even awkward and soggy to chew.
This is not the case normally here. The girl seemed frustrated from work and was also serving food and drinks rudely to the table.
Caramel slice and chocolate brownie were both AMAZING. Lots to choose from (sweet and savory). Average pricing. Friendly staff.
Scallop pie had 4 scallops in it and quite small. Still charged the premium price. Went to Banjos across the road for a second one and was much better.
Good job Bob! We were told that your curried scallop pies were the best in town and I reckon our sources were right. We tried the same pie from Banjo's but it was too heavy on the keens curry powder and a bit light on the scallops. But the pies at the St Helens Bakery were smooth, creamy and choc full of tasty scallops. The pastry was good too. This place is highly recommended, if only for the curried scallop pies. Must try some other tasty treats too!
Friendly staff, wide selection of pastries, pies, breads, made up bread rolls, coffee, & plenty of inside & outside seating.
The best doughnut in Tasmania. Crispy airy doughnut with a gooey sweet custard filling, an absolute delight! The chips were crispy and well seasoned while the gravy was meaty and thick. Highly recommend this bakery!
