St Davids Park reviews
55Small lovely park steeped in history and heritage lion head statues (from now demolished bank building). Good to relax in for lunch or walk through on the way to Battery Point.
Very nice little park in the middle of town. It has two amazing Pine trees, perfect for a quite chillout under its limbs.
Quite park between Hobart and salamanca. Would be good place to clear the head. Has a lot of history but there could be a bit more information posted about it in the park.
Nice place to calm in the middle of the busy city. Clean toilets, a lot of benches and green gras to sit on.
Nice and quiet park not too far from takeaway with toilets. Never been too busy as to not enjoy yourself
Took a walk around St David's Park this afternoon. Nice backstory. Back in early settlement times it was the main cemetery in Hobart town. In the park there are memorial walls which are made up of many of the original headstones from the park’s previous life as the Hobart colony’s first cemetery. They contain the names and details of many “First Fleeters” and many of the early settlers of Hobart Town. This is an absolute hidden gem, right in the heart of Hobart. The park is beautiful and the memorial walls add that colonial touch to the space.
Its a great place for getting fresh air with the sun bath. Fresh and well maintained trees with the hug veriety of flowers. Additionally, you can see history of Tasmania.
I have a friend who is homeless @ St Davids Park, a space he calls home.
I am under know illusion but frankly saying a park I have become somewhat familiar with over a six month timeframe and there after.
Its delightful array of vegetation, spatial surrounds, seating and care provided by council workers, becomes a meeting place taking on any visitor and unconditionally providing a very yet permanent meeting point for transitional visitors alike.
Very nice park and we'll maintained. However it is home to several homeless and their friends who have been known to be aggressive and violent.
Beautiful park, check out the lion heads at the main entrance. Pull up some historical photos and history of the past. Very interesting you'll be capitivated, I certainly was.
Very pleasant place to stroll. Some nice monuments, a grand band stand and various monuments. Choice!
St David's Park is great to seat down and relax in the middle of the Hobart. Lovely grass and gardens, also go down the bottom and read the headstones that are in the wall.
Nice enough park, but not safe. Homeless population camping in the park can be aggressive and sometimes violent.
Beautiful park in the middle of the city. Perfect place to have some rest on a bench if you are visiting the are for example.
A lovely park space with rolling green lawns, beautiful big trees, interesting architectural accents, and nice arcing footpaths. It's a wonderful place for a picnic or a leisurely rest on a sunny day. It's so cheerful and relaxing that one almost forgets the entire space was once a cemetery.
What a beautiful park! Do yourself a favor and go there if you like parks of course. This is a centraly located park near the warlfs and pubs etc and is a great place to either take the kids or wonder through by yourself if you don't have any. It is also close to shops pubs and is in the heart of Hobart. It is well worth the effort of going to.
Lovely park in the heart of Hobart with a lot of history dating back to the first years of the city
Not a huge park but quite scenic, serene and is drowned in history. If you get a chance, read the descriptions on tombstones and various installations around the park.
Beautiful place to have lunch, play with the kids and have fun in this gorgeous, quiet and chill spot no matter what weather.
