Excellent service by the young lady behind the bar giving us the run down of the wines and gins.

Such a great little cellar door in this winery. Loved our tasting. Mels kitchen wasn’t open today but we’ll be back to try that as well!

Beautiful old building to do wine tasting in. A very friendly young woman from Bicheno hosted our wine tasting and was very knowledgeable about the wines and the history of the building. Highly recommend a visit.

Had an incredible meal with some awesome tasty wine.
Do yourself a favour and check out this place next time you are driving up the beautiful Tassie east coast.
From the vineyard we really enjoyed the estate chardonnay and the pinot.
From Mel's Kitchen we can highly recommend the spicy chicken wings, fritters, sweet potato and fetta salad.
Now need to go back and try the rest of Mel's tasty meals!

We were treated by our son to a beautiful meal at Mel's Kitchen for me and my husband's birthdays. The food was delicious and Meg serviced a near full restaurant magnificently on her own. We went across to the cellar door and was delightfully served by Diana. We were on our way to Freycinet. 3 days later on our way back we called in to purchase the wines we enjoyed. What an amazing greeting from Diana. She remembered our birthdays and our son's treat. Made our day! Great service! Well done!

Sorry guys. After enduring a bone jarring trip up your corrugated road for what seemed like eternity. I did a U-turn and didn't even make it to your cellar door.

Wines are worth a taste. Food, worth booking if you can. We've been twice and knocked back twice

Absolutely charming girl at cellar door for the wine tastings. Ended up buying 4 bottles from her after a cool reception at the previous stop where we didn't even bother to taste their wines. Great wines too.

Such a lovely wine/gin tasting host. They had run out of tonic but we had our own luckily. The Chardonnay was the best we had ever tasted. Beautiful place with a great restaurant too

Amazing winery, especially enjoyed the Gewurztraminer, Rosé and the Pinot Noir.
Also had something to eat at Mel's kitchen, was of a good standard, very tasty and really enjoyed.
Definitely a standout Winery in Tassie.

Excellent meal. Springdale wines as usual very high standard East Coast Tassie. Great lunch experience.

Lovely setting, great range of wines, and really knowledgeable and friendly staff. A great little pit stop on the highway.

We were driving to the beautiful Freycinet National Park and along the drive appeared a very familiar name. Having worked as a Sommelier, Springvale is on my top go to everyday wines. Most people only talk about their “Melrose” Pinot Noir but trust me, you have to try their Gewurtzraminer (both table and dessert wine). If you love Asian food, this is the perfect wine right here.

PS if you are driving a low slung exotic, you would need to creep along as the entrance drive is all stone/gravel and about a mile to the cellar door.

Just get a bottle of the Louisa and you will thank me!
