Sports Garden Hotel

2 stars overall for the reception we received on entry to the bar. We were asked to settle down immediately after entering the bar area because there were children there. I'm sure it was because we were dressed for a hen's party and the female bar attendant assumed we were going to be noisy. We weren't and we were offended. There were a lot of noisier groups than us.

Great place to have a drink with mates but it's SUPER loud. If you're wanting to chat this isn't a great place to go on weekends. Otherwise the food is good and the bar staff are friendly and super fast.

Service was good. Meal was OK but steak was cold in middle. Could only have salad. Had to pay extra for vegs only, as a side

Great pub to go to if you are after delicious ice cold beer (get a summer haze up ya), great parmi, top notch service and footy on many a screen. Otherwise stay away.

Special shoutout to bartender Nick! My partner and I were visiting from VIC and randomly found this pub to watch the footy at on a Saturday night. We ended up returning the next day as Nick made us feel so welcome from the get go, and could not leave without paying him a last visit and have one of his amazing cocktails. Legend of a bloke! We really appreciated his warmth and outstanding customer service. On ya Nicholas!

Absolutely abysmal service served locals first regardless of que.waited nearly 20 minutes for a drink went across the road to the Commercial great service and better prices win win
Don't go to sports garden if you are a visitor

Food was nice - hot and fresh. It was honestly just lacking the sports part. I came on Saturday expecting the racing channel to be pumping (a reasonable expectation for a “sports garden”) but nothing. A few more screens and decent channels (maybe a cheeky betting facility) would be a brilliant addition. However if your just looking for a good feed without the screens you have come to the right place.

Went for an early dinner with 2 little kids. Great steaks, pleasant staff, reasonably priced and generous portions (like when you order steak salad and chips you actually get a nice salad rather than a standard pub “garnish”)

Other than coming for the occasional dinner, which once let inside is very friendly and has a great outside sports garden. I have been disappointed three times by this venue; they refuse to allow any groups more significant than a small gathering participating in pub crawls; every single bar, pub or club in Launceston has let us in on these occasions except this venue which has their bouncers outside basically tell us to **** off. As a respectful group of young men and women, we were rather disappointed, the accumulation of these events taking place has definitely affected our relationship with this venue.

The Waitress/ Bar girl was so lovely. Nothing at all was an issue.
This was my second time at this pub and I would recommend for any event. Great food great atmosphere.

Dropped in Saturday night with friends from Launceston for a nightcap after a great Mona Foma event, it was about 10.50pm. Anyhow we order 4 cocktails for about an $80 spend. The bar tender takes about 10 mins to make them which was fine and he was very polite. A bouncer shows up about 11.00pm and asks to drink up as they are closing, he comes a few minutes later and asks us to "Drink up and they are closing now" So we ask him wht we weren't told that when we walked in? Why would let us in at 10.50 when your closing time is 11.12pm, seriously? We didn't order shots for heaven's sake! The guy was abrupt, rude and quite frankly offensive. We sculled our cocktails (RSA?) and left. Management, customer service, all rate poorly and in truth the bar tender appeared embarrassed by the exchange. We wondering why the pub across the road had a line up and this place whilst looking beautiful was empty - well wonder no more!

I found a pube/beard hair in my very average tasting pasta. My friends Vietnamese salad tasted like water. Cocktails were great but unfortunately don’t outweigh the rest of our experience. I spoke to staff and received a refund for my pube meal and we were denied a refund for my friends meal even though she was obviously not going to eat it after seeing the hair in my meal. Food even without the hair was gross. Don’t go, it broke our amazing Tasmanian food streak we had going for the 4 days prior. Ruined my appetite for my one meal in Launceston cheers see u never.

What a great turn around with the new owners and renovations done here. Great staff, clean facilities, good food and great atmosphere. If yoyr looking for a sports bar in Launceston this is the one. Makes sporties on charles st look like a joke

We called in for lunch, first time here and wow, the service was fantastic and the meal absolutely fantastic. We felt very spoilt. Thank you everyone at the Sports Garden Hotel. We will be back.

Very welcoming atmosphere as soon as you walk in, the food is amazing and fresh. Good prices and great food, Will be coming back for sure.

Great place for a beer, feed, watch sport, and just have a good time. Wide selection of beers and spirits.
