Spice On Charles reviews
26Had dinner with family yesterday, amazing food, staff and service. Interestingly every dish gave experience of home made food.
Excellent food and service, highly recommend, dishes are really made attention to detail. Special shout out to Anurajbir Singh the chef and also to wait staff
We decided to eat at Spice on Charles having read reviews of the food and service. It did not disappoint. There were 3 of us dining and all agreed this was the freshest and tastiest Indian food we had eaten in Australia since moving here 15 years ago. The service was faultless as was the food. We recommend the chicken 65 and chicken tikka starters with delicious green chutney. The mains were chicken jalfrezi, butter chicken and malai kofta and were delicious. Naans also delicious as was the saffron rice. This would be our regular if we lived here!
My husband and I dined in last night. The service was outstanding. Their food presentation was very detailed. I was very impressed by the fact that they actually served masala chai in a cute teapot. First time seeing that in my 17 years in Aussie. Food was a delight. Loved the mixed entree platter. A must try!
Highly recommend, both the chicken korma & garlic nan were delicious. The waitress was lovely despite us turning up just before closing.
Spent 4 nights in Launceston and ate here twice. Fabulous service and amazing food, absolutely delicious. Do yourself a favour!
Great service, great food, amazing food actually.i forgot to take photo of our mains, this was just entrée. Main curries and garlic nann were beautiful tasting.perfect!
The food was alright, nothing you would return to. The chicken chettinad we were served was not chettinad, which was disappointing. The chef said this is our version, which is not correct.
Great food, great atmosphere and with a separate vegan menu available. All of my favorite things!
I’m going to start by saying our main meals were delicious. We had poppadoms to start which came with a sauce. The poppadoms were seasoned so a bit too salty for us and the sauce was a strange flavour that tasted a bit like a cross between Bisto gravy and bbq sauce. We’re from England and if you order poppadoms they’re large about 30 cm across and they come with a pickle tray of raita, lime pickle onion and cucumber salad and one or two others so we were a little surprised by what arrived. I was then a little dubious about our main meals but needn’t have worried as mine was absolute delicious. I had the Chefs special prawns and the flavours were sublime, and good quality prawns perfectly cooked and plenty of them. My friend had the daal veggies and he said they were really good. Prices seemed reasonable. We had a couple of beers each and the total was less than $80AU I would definitely recommend for the mains and next time would try something different for starters The waiting staff were lovely and the place is nice and big and airy.
We ordered 2x butter chicken and unfortunately we were delivered mainly sauce and very little chicken. Very disappointing.
Extremely happy with the service of Spice of Charles. High chair ready, halal certified and clean. Chicken biryani was delicious and the raita was refreshing. Also ordered masala tea and was promptly received during the meal (was asked when we would like to drink). Shout out to the young lady who served us for the evening, you did a wonderful job! Thank you Spice of Charles for your service during our Launceston visit!
Dined on 2 consecutive nights- great service, authentic taste, fantastic menu, plenty of seating availability. Be ready to spend approx 45 minutes to receive mains.
Loved having Indian authentic food here after long travel. Ordered Haandi Paneer and Mai Kofta with cashew pakora and bhajia. Everything cooked to perfection, presented nicely with a friendly smile. Staff is so warm and welcoming. Will visit again when in Launceston. Cashew nuts and haandi paneer is a must try!
Amazing food with authentic Indian flavours and great service. The chef was amazing and provided food, both veg and non-veg, as well as once in a lifetime dessert. Hats off to you and the serving staff.
This place is the best Indian I’ve had in all of Australia. I am a huge Indian food fan and have been in Sydney for several months, trying to find something good and this was by far the best Indian food we have had. I asked for my dish to be quite spicy, and they did a great job with the spice while the flavor was still super deep and complex. They were great with my husbands gluten free as well - knowledgeable and confidence inspiring.
I had lunch here yesterday with my partner and we really enjoyed, great food, friendly staff and excellent service, will definitely go there again.
