Scamander Sanctuary Holiday Park reviews
44We stopped to camp there for a few nights. Was a fantastic stay, very clean neat facilities and the host Matthew was very helpful and friendly.
Impeccable friendly customer service!
Called to request just a shower and they were very helpful.
$5 hot showers, with modern clean facilities.
I appreciate Scamander Sanctuary for providing a service which allows people to maintain their dignity and hygiene.
10/10 recommend
We stayed for 3 nights in our caravan. I highly recommend a stay here. The amenities were fantastic, a great camp kitchen and well maintained park as well as friendly service.
Wake up 2minutes walk from this? What more can I say?
Wrens and Bandicoots hopping around you as you relax with a cold drink by the pot belly fireplaces. Wood can be bought from the reception for $15 for a big bag.
Ok so how does it all unfold? On the way we recieve texts giving us information about check in and the boom gate. I arrived a bit late, but the owner of the park was close by and personally greets us and says to me, "are you Bradley? ". Impressive that he remembers the names of his bookings and who hasn't arrived yet. And he is so friendly.
Book in was easy. A breeze. Then we drive to our Glamping tent. It's beautifully nestled up against the native trees and brush. The tents are kind of close to each other but far enough to be comfortable. We stayed in the two room glamping tent.
It has a pot-belly wood burner, a small deck with BBQ and dining table. Walking inside there is a double bed. The bed is quite firm. But its also glamping so deal with it. There is an espressotoria coffee machine (note nespresso pods don't fit this, a sink microwave toaster and kettle. A small TV (which you shouldn't by using!). Next room is 4 beds (2 bunks). Final room is a bathroom with shower sink and toilet. The shower head is quite low and suits shorter people better, but again you're glamping thr shower should be quick!
The room was tidy and smelled extremely clean. The bedsheets and mattresses were all clean. Everything looked well maintained. My only gripe Waa that you could tell the cups and plates hadn't been used in a while, but you're washing them before using them anyway unless you're insane.
The key to this experience is the area it unlocks for you. The native coastline. The beach. The wildlife. The birds. There was a pair of wrens around our site. A male and female.
Come and stay. Slow down. Connect with nature. The accommodation is a vehicle to facilitate your connection to this beautiful place. Enjoy waking up to the sounds of birds and distant waves.
It was lovely being met by Matt's smiling face and kind and caring manner, a real asset to the holiday park. The campsites are large and flat, the ammenities are very modern and clean. It's in a great location with a lovely walk down to the beach. I would highly recommend this campground. Keep up the fabulous work. Thanks Matt for the help getting me a fire barrel.
A great caravan park! We loved our stay here, lovely clean park and amenities. Owner is really friendly and went out of his way to help us out with a fire pit etc. Would definitely be back.
Staff where very nice Especially Barry the reception dog! Lol.the Safari tent was beautiful. Nice and clean. The Scenery and wild life where amazing. Thank you
Hands down the best park we have ever stayed at! The private shower/toilets are great and up to date camp kitchen. Big sites and friendly staff. We have already booked to come back for Easter! Will be regulars for sure!
We stayed for a week in our caravan.the management we're very helpful in providing our needs.the park was well presented and the facilities were excellent. Would thoroughly recommend this park for your stay in the area.
Beautiful and tidy park with spotless individual amenities. Camp kitchen and fire pit. Kids playground and walking to small town.
Awesome park, really love the comfy beds and how you can hear the ocean from them. Right next t he beach, great location.
We arrived after hours on a Sunday afternoon. Tried to call the number on door but had no service. We saw a man with a vacuum cleaner so asked him and he called the office. They opened up for us and we paid for a powered site. We were very grateful. Awesome park. Showers and toilets very clean. No extra charge for a hot shower. 1 overnight charge that included everything. That’s how it should be. Staff very friendly. We would definitely stay here again. Highly recommend.
Absolutely love the glamping, they are amazing, very new glamping site, properly set up, nice shower with heater.right next to the beach.
We have just spent 2 nights here with our children, and our friends and their children. It was a lovely place to stay, powered sites are a nice size and the toilets and showers were great! I loved that each shower/toilet was private. We also really enjoyed using the camp kitchen, and the beautiful walk to the beach. The only downfall is that there is no longer a playground, even though it is still listed in multiple places on the website. Our children were excited about the playground, and our friends asked to be near the playground when booking. Not a huge issue, but something to be aware of if booking with kids.
The bell tent was very comfortable for 2. Bed was a bit hard for my liking, but facilities were nice and clean.
We were blown away by our Glamping experience! Scamander Sanctuary had thought of everything from an umbrella to Nespresso coffee and complimentary pods! The bathrooms were impeccably clean, great laundry facilities and a fully equipped kitchen. Thank you so much - 5+ stars!
I've travelled all over Australia and this is unique and very comfortable.put it on your wish list.
Couldn’t wait to stay here when I first saw photos of the bell tents. It was everything I had hoped it would be. Clean, tidy, warm & so comfy. We loved sitting on the deck with the fire going sipping wine. We didn’t want to leave. Would definitely be back & highly recommend.
Another excellent stay at Scamander Sanctuary! This park has been so well thought out. The sites are well marked out with shrubs & small trees inbetween and they're spacious. The amenities are great, with individual 'ensuite' bathrooms rather than a big toilet/shower block and a clean communal kitchen.
After having stayed at other parks for the same price per night, Scamander Sanctuary is far superior and will see us back again for sure!
Facilities are quite good, unisex toilet/shower rooms were excellent. Sites for soft floor camping trailers can be hit and miss, as some sites have sparse grass cover and a few small rocks. If you take the time to carefully inspect your site and remove the rocks you should be fine. We had an adequate site and really enjoyed our stay. Recommended.
