Had the raspberry gelato and blood orange. The young fella was very helpful and had great people skills. Great prices also

Bought two chicken burgers with the lot + chips off the takeaway menu, could not ask for better as far as takeaway goes. Everything was so fresh, delicious and reasonably priced. Can see that there is real care going into the food and service, highly recommend!

My husband said, "This is the best steak sandwich I have had in ages. It is like they used to make before Maccas. We'll be back"

Manager was extremely rude to her staff. Yelling out to him calling him a "halfwit". She needs to go. That's kind of behaviour is uncalled for especially with staff in the shop.

Also she needs to learn how to make decent coffee. It was awful

Friendly staff, good view of the beach. Fish and chips were alright but exactly what we needed. Certainly improved over the previous owners.

Beachside cafe with a view to die for from the deck overlooking the beach. Coffee was lovely and muffin delicious.

As a local we try to frequent our local businesses however a couple of things would need to improve before we'd go back to The River Mouth Cafe sadly. 1. Maybe one more front counter staff member would shorten wait time for food. 2. The coffee was very bitter either change the coffee beans or offer the more training to the barista. Otherwise a great business opportunity and lovely outlook. We will give it one more crack

Excellent breakfast choice on the east coast friendly and efficient staff and value for money the coffee was excellent (as in you could taste the coffee unlike so many other places)

Old converted service station. Walk through to a great view over the ocean and friendly staff providing good food.

OMG, what a hamburger with the LOT. Fresh, tasty, loaded and prepared by an, as my wife said "easy on the eye" chef. The Best Burger ever! Thank you Barb and Kev

I have to say the food was very very disappointed, the meal was place in a takeaway box and looks like you can order in McDonald or even worse. For the price they charge, the food should place in a proper plate and this cafe doesn’t have high chair as well. So it’s not very kids friendly tbh.

I ordered a hamburger with the lot and my wife had the chicken burger with the lot.

We got flake and chips last night.
The service was excellent and friendly staff.
The flake wasn't very nice at all. Sloppy under the batter. Grey veiny bits which were really tough. Not sure we'd have it again.
We were disappointed after reading good reviews about the new owners.
Hope the cooking skills improve.

Food was good for take out and the price! Had the flake and chips + calamari. Staff was friendly, and the view around here is amazing. Just watch out for the seagulls. =P

There's also a park and community bathroom right next to it.

Good food and friendly staff. Everything was priced well. I didn't have to wait to long for my food.

Had a lovely meal here on the 5th April 2022 with a friend, very quick and polite service couldn't fault it. Keep up the great work

Had the best burger of my life here (and I've had a few). Was very generously filled out, great price, great location. Tiny bit of a wait, but that was totally understandable and to be expected. You can wait outside on the deck and watch the views. People serving were very friendly, lady in the supermarket part was exceptional. Will definitely be coming back when we visit again. The fish and chips were also five star.

Just easily phone ordered 2 chicken snitzel with chips and gravy and 2 pineapple fritters, it was delicious the chicken was realy nice thick and good portion nice hot crisp chips and the gravy realy topped it off, everytime we stay at the resort across the road we go here for either lunch or dinner never been disappointed far from that, great service and the resort had no utensiles to eat with but the shop happily gave us some to take back, already looking forward to the next visit keep up the great work guys 5 star

You can't judge a book by its cover. This little take away has amazing fish and chips. I traveled to Scamander specifically to try the fish and chips that friends told me were the best on the coast - I was not disappointed. This is one of the best calamari I've tasted. But be warned every meal is cooked to order and we were informed we would have to wait nearly an hour (it was a public holidays and it was obvious the secret about this place was out). But the wait was worth it. I've taken the bait, been hooked, and will be back again. If you're in the area don't pass up they opportunity to have some of the best fish and chips you'll have in Tassie.

Hopefully won’t go back. I think it’s fine as a fast, convenient, in and out place. But to sit down and eat there wasn’t ideal for me. The service was not great, one of the servers, the tanned guy in the hawaiian shirt was really grumpy and condescending to us. But you never know, perhaps it was just a one off or because we were asian. The dining was very low key with clutter next to the seating. I honestly didn’t really mind it though, it adds to the quaint and local feeling. The food was priced well and came out at a good time. Well portioned and filing, but quite bland. I ordered a chicken burger with the lot, and I had no expectations because the menu is vague and gives no details, but overall the food was average. The wedges came with sour cream, cheese and salsa which is a strange combination in my opinion. Basically a good place to go if you purely wanna get fed, but maybe not if you’re looking for a more pleasant experience. Really pretty view though.
