Saltwater River Convict Beach House reviews
8Wow! We rented the cottage, and found that there was nothing better at the end of a long day to sit on the porch with a glass of wine and a good book, watching the family of rabbits come out from the small copse of trees to romp. Or stroll down to the beach while the tide was out, and walk across to the remnants of the old convict pier, dodging the small sand crabs …. And so much more. We will definitely be returning.
Great stay! Comfortable, well equipped and a beautiful view of the ocean. Very close to the coal mine world heritage site and the beach. Just 20 mins from Port Arthur. We had a fun stay
Great spot for a base to tour the Tasman Peninsula, very comfortable accommodation. The walks recommended by Steven were spot on (Lagoon Beach and Cape Hauy). Special thanks for providing the EV charging socket, it made the visit, and the touring, possible as there are no other chargers on the peninsula.
What a fantastic find. Stephen is a stellar host and the place is just awesome
Note that there is no Vodafone reception there and no wifi
We had only a night stay prior too the 3 Capes walk. Super comfortable and Stephen the host goes above and beyond. Cant recommend highly enough. Will stay again.
Our family of 5 enjoyed a 3 night stay in the house recently.
Beautiful secluded location, with just the native wildlife popping by. Great views from all areas. Short walk across the road to the water, excellent spot for some fishing, swimming or a relaxing stroll. The children were delighted with the tandem kayak and enjoyed paddling about the calm bay most days. Even on a rainy day there was plenty to keep the kids entertained, from books, games, dvd’s. Very clean and tidy accommodation, fully equipped kitchen and super comfy beds.
Lovely undercover deck with bbq. Amazing spot to sit back, watch the water and unwind. Lovely property to explore, close to the convict ruins and we took a drive to Port Arthur.
Very relaxing stay will definitely be back.
'The House is set up on the hill with a million dollar view. It's very private and has all the condiments and accessories you need in a beautiful house.
Beautiful location, with a magnificent sunrise. The vista from the bedroom, living room, and deck was glorious.
Our hosts were friendly and knowledgeable about local points of natural and historical interest.
Plenty of scenic hikes for all ages and stages.
Remarkable convict ruins and cemetery nearby (free admission).
