Food is fabulous, especially the Rib eye! Environment is good but the service is really bad, except the reception.

Cannot rate this restaurant highly enough, great food with great staff.
My wife could finally eat out after 22 years and get multiple choices in a three course, GF coeliac safe, quality meal.

Well Tasmania 3 weeks into our holiday here and after eating some excellent meals at fantastic establishments and thinking we had just eaten the best to be found, along comes this little gem and POW, absolutely knocks the food quality into another field altogether, tonight I ordered a 500g eye fillet, done French blue, with 3 simple mustards, hot english, dijon, and seeded.
Well as simple as it sounds it was served absolutely perfect, in-fact, it has been the best prepared steak I have eaten thus far, seasoned perfectly, cooked with care and served exactly as I had ordered, and as such giving it only 5 stars is somehow a bit of an injustice, but as the highest score is only out of five then 5 it gets, and a rave review from myself to encourage others to give this establishment a strong consideration for your next dining out experience when at salamanca in hobart, also the staff were great patient and very attentive to our needs without being in your face.
Word of advice book a table because it is a very popular restaurant.

I want to believe the dishes on their menu are better than the special I was served on their board because my partners pork cutlet was delicious.

I've had better pub steaks better than the "+5 wagyu" steak I ordered. Besides being cooked well, it was just dry, and being one of the more expensive items on their menu it was not worth the price.

The steak was perfectly cooked and the food was delicious. There were so many gluten free desserts and it made me so happy to have such a yummy pudding cake that was entirely gluten free. I was in heaven. The only thing holding back a 5 star is the portion size for the sides with the steak. Two tiny potatoes, 2 small brocolinis and 2 slices of carrots was a bit disappointing. A generous serving of mash would have improved the dish a great deal. With that said, I'd eat here again.

I had the eye fillet 500gm steak, medium rare. It was delicious, perfectly seared and very juicy. I would recommend without hesitation.

Started strong with prompt drink service and then went downhill from there. Booking was for 6pm and meals finally served at 8pm - a 90 minute wait. Waiter was super friendly but didn’t check in on on us much at all after the first 30 mins. Then the food was average. Wouldn’t go back or recommend.

Exceptional service, delicious food and celiac friendly too. Can’t wait to visit again next time I’m in Hobart!

Over crowded, loud and hot!
We ordered rock lobster pate, which was delicious and a large serving. For main, we ordered the 4 point lamb rack special. I was only delivered 3 points. When I asked the waitress, she went to check with the chef and never returned. The other main was the coffee rub special scotch fillet. Steak was lovely, but no other flavour besides grilled steak.

Had lunch on a Friday. Entree platter for 2, coffee rub steak and dessert platter for 2. The waiter was excellent and knew all parts of a dish inside and out and the description of the coffee rub convinced us both to try it. Excellent choice. The atmosphere was great, it was quiet and we had a lovely meal together.

Came here twice in 4 nights while travelling. It's one of the best steaks I have had, and I dont say that lightly.
Do yourself a favour and get the signature coffee rub on your steak.sensational.

Should have realised when they called and moved the booking from 9pm to 8: 30pm so the chefs could go home earlier, that this wasn't going to be good. Service was poor. Food was lacklustre and over priced for the quality. Just very disappointing. Couldn't even keep the candles on the tables topped up and we had to pour our own wine the whole night. Entrees and main plus bottle of wine for $300

I tried their eye filet with coffee rub and shallot butter, I've never had anything quite like it! A unique twist on a delicious steak.
My partner had the filet Mignon and the steak quality was close to the best.
Great atmosphere, staff very attentive but not overwhelming.
Reasonably price-y but actually cheaper than expected for such a great meal.
I would definitely recommend making Rockwall your "fancy night out" while visiting Hobart.

Was double booked for our work dinner. Was meant to be 7: 30pm. We didn't get to eat until 10pm

I had great experience at the last visit a few year ago. But it was very disappointing this time. It wasn’t busy. The foods were OK. Spring Bay Mussels dish was salty and not quite fresh. We loved the Reef Beef dish. The service wasn’t good and unfriendly. Foods were brought to our table with an attitude by the waiter, which ruined our mood of the night. Finished dishes didn’t get to clear off the table until the end.
Hope the service will improve for great dining experience.

Had not been since new owners service good ordered Rock Lobster Pate must have came straight out of the fridge hade and crumble like cheese could not spread it on the bread. Fillet steak cooked well but no grain to it very stringy and tough large piece of grisly and fat on the end very disappointed

My partner and I went here for dinner and the service was amazing - very friendly and attentive staff. We ordered the pork belly and quail to start and for mains we had the reef and beef and the crispy skin chicken breast. The food was amazing and the cocktails were divine. The sticky date pudding we shared for dessert was heavenly. Would have given 5 stars but we ordered chips to come with our mains which we never received but were almost charged for. Other than that, everything was fabulous.

Well we cannot comment on the food as our booking was canceled last night because a table with more people wanted to book? Need to remember that when anyone books a table and reservation is confirmed then yippee for all parties, don’t think 3 people will be less of an important customer than 6. Perhaps I need to be a bit more like this unprofessional establishment and make a booking for say 8 to 10 people on a busy Saturday night and 5 minutes before arriving cancel and say we have fund a better place. All ended up good for us 3 as we went to a lovely Japanese restaurant, treaty with professionalism and only spent $300. As a family on a short break in lovely Hobart this was a huge letdown for us, hope they don’t treat others like this

1 hour between entrees and main way to long even the tables beside me came in after had entrees and main before me and it need more mushroom gravy point this out to staff not interested ball and chain is so much better
