My husband and I stayed here overnight. Beautiful accommodation, very large room with huge shower and gorgeous private outdoor area. The owners were delightful and very helpful. Very easy short walk to everything the town has to offer. Can't wait to stay here again, highly recommend

The Coachmans Rest was right in the heart of Richmond the cottage was excellent, nice and clean with a lovely little courtyard. Beautifully furnished had plenty of extra towels beautiful bathroom. Even had beautiful flowers on the table from their own garden, beautiful touch. The owner greeted us with a smile and a lovely chat. 10 out of 10
Definitely would recommend a stay

Pitty you can't give less than one star. They need to change their webpage advertisement from 'kid friendly' to 'we won't allow kids here and we will make you feel terrible for even coming in with them even after you've booked already' because they definitely aren't kid friendly and the man is SO rude. DO NOT GO HERE!

Disgusted was an understatement! Arrived with my 2 children as I had planned an overnight getaway for us to see and do all the town had too offer!
To be welcomed with the words
"You have kids! "
"I don't normally allow kids to stay here! "
My jaw dropped I was horrified!
We had driven over 300kms to be welcomed with such mannerisms!
The conversation continued with me feeling like an unfit, poor and an irresponsible mother!
And concluded with him 'preferringng us to stay elsewhere! '
So when you read "Family friend! Y" it's absolutely the opposite!

I booked Richmond Coachmans Rest through Agoda at 5: 00 pm for 1 night on the same day as I booked. I have fully paid the night through Agoda. During the process of entering my information, one of the common questions asked was "when is your expected time of arrival? ". It said it helped the motel to serve you better by knowing approximately my arrival time. I could have entered "I don't know", but I entered "5: 00 pm to 6: 00 pm" nonetheless, as at that time we were planning to go to the motel directly after the booking. However, there was a change of plan so we decided to only check in after dinner. When we arrived the motel at 8: 00 pm, the owner came out and shouted at me, told me off why I was so late. He said that I had no courtesy and manner to inform him that I would be late. Honestly I don't think that I was obliged to arrive between 5: 00 to 6: 00 pm, this is just for information only, not a legally binding clause. Nonetheless, thinking that he was an old man, perhaps a grumpy old man, so I politely said sorry, but he kept scolding me of being late, I again gave my apology. Then here came the REAL thing: he opened the room for us, then said that there was a problem with us. That we had to pay an extra AUD30 for my daughter. When I booked in Agoda, I specified that there are 2 adults and 1 child at 13 years old. At the website, it said that 2 adults and 1 child under 16 years old, the child is for free. Now, he said that I had to pay an extra for the child. I could have just pay the AUD$30 and put the issue at bed, however, I felt that I was being conned, especially my Agoda receipt clearly stated that we had 3 travelers, of which one is a child at 13, and that was the price that we paid in full during booking. Why I had to pay another AUD30 to the owner on the spot. I refused. Then the owner pushed us away from his motel property. We were literally thrown out to the street. During the conversation, he mentioned that his price was the lowest, that nobody would find a price that was lower than his, and that he was operating at a loss by offering such a low price. By then, I realized that this is how he runs his business: put an extra low price in the hotel booking websites to attract people to book his motel, then he would find extra excuse to charge people more on the spot. This is a slaughter house, DON'T BE THE NEXT VICTIM!

Absolutely wonderful stay, lovely little private courtyard with gorgeous flowers, very clean and comfortable. Lovely man David makes you feel very welcome. Will love to stay again

Very well appointed room
To have your own garden courtyard was a real bonus.

Enjoyable stay. Nicely appointed. Very clean and so comfortable. Cosy outside area. Highly recommend. Parking outside door.

We will come back and stay again.
The venue is fantastic. The garden court yard is a very nice bonus.
Rooms are appointed with everything you need to have a great stay in Richmond

Can't complain. Host was welcoming and we had a nice chat. Very clean. Paid for straight away which we appreciated as we had to leave early for our flight. Good location in town. Close to everything. Would have been a 5 star rating had our Host advised us that the bed had an electric blanket. Took a long time to heat up our room and we would have appreciated turning on the electric blanket. On the whole though, we enjoyed our 1 night stay here.
