Queen Victoria Art Gallery reviews
43Prefer the other one at Inveresk, more interesting things to see and interactive. Best part of this one was the miniature exhibition.
Beautiful small gallery with surprising amazing curation.
We went in with least expectations, but were surprised by the collections
We specially loved the miniature section.
Staff are friendly and open to enlightening conversations
A great changing collection of art that is very diverse. Readily spend more than 1 hour looking at all the art.
Beautiful FREE art gallery. Highly recommend visiting. Lots to see and one can easily spend an hour or two here reading and viewing everything.
Had a great time here. Love everything on display. Very well curated gallery, special mention to the very helpful staff- Katherine when I need to charge my phone.
Some beautiful works on display from PNG artists the day we visited. Lots of different works from the rising exhibition showing off the next gen of artistic talent in Tasmania. Great starting point for learning about first nations culture on the island - display was very informative. Staff very friendly.
Brilliant curating of Tasmanian art and artists, in a lovely building, and it was free. The indigenous exhibition was really informative and focussed squarely on unique aspects of Tasmania's first nations people including threaded jewellery, which I had never seen before. So glad we made the time to visit.
We went to see the Mason Marsden exhibition and it was worth the visit. Easy to follow and loved the different mediums used.
Great free gallery. Easy ticketed street parking. Friendly staff on entry. Definitely worth a look. Allow a couple of hours. Small gift shop just left as you enter.
A quaint gallery with free entry and lots of different art forms featured. Can get through it quite quickly but definitely worth a look!
We came to the art gallery specifically for the Aboriginal display. There was no display at the museum. The (museum) display shares own voices about Letteremairrener people up to the pre arrival of colonists. The story/history from colonisation is not referenced or shared. Why? It's 2023, do better!
The gallery is intentionally updating their exhibitions to reflect more of the community today. The women's art exhibition, though tiny, was great, as was art from Tasmanian children and young people.
A lovely gallery with beautiful art and extremely friendly staff make this a lovely way to spend a morning.
A really sweet museum, lots to see nice works to see, the local work is really nice. Small but that makes it nice. If around you should stop in and see it.
Worth seeing, Huge variety, something for everyone. And the staff where lovley and helpful.
Very nice artworks from many locally and state artists including native Australians.
Good for an hour or two visit with a nice gift shop
A must see on your visit to Launceston. A variety of pieces that were all very interesting. Could spend hours here. Friendly and knowledgeable staff
Had an amazing adventure of hunting butterflies throughout the museum, even learnt a thing or two asking the way. Highly recommend a visit to this beautiful treasure.
They have some of the best information about the Aboriginal history of Tasmania I’ve seen, and the Anna Zahalka exhibition is well worth seeing
So worth a visit. The butterfly display was a delight. Garry Greenwood's work is spectacular and the Sea Coun try water colours were inspiring. Staff were positive, helpful and genuine. I all, a wonderful afternoon of exploring.
