Great pub in Hobart's historic Battery Point, excellent range of beers, fantastic food (the slow cooked lamb shoulder and the scotch fillet are sensational!) and very family friendly

We came here for dinner not expecting much as there were hardly any other people dining. But damn were we blown away. Staff were very friendly, service was quick, portion sizes were huge and the food was divine. This place should be packed every night. Will definitely be back!

We went there for dinner - attentive staff, quick service and delicious meals with great banter with the bar staff. Pity we weren’t here another few days, we would definitely go back.

Most welcoming from the first step inside. Good selection of meals and great coffee to finish off a great lunch.

Had lunch with colleagues recently. Guy behind the bar was a bit rude to a few of us and the vegetarian tomato risotto was pretty gross. The taste was bad, there were hard, uncooked bits of rice combined with completely mushy bits that you could squish with your fork to look like mash potato. The beetroot on top was the only good bit. People who had other meals (parmie’s) reported back ok. I only ate it as I was starving and there was no other vegetarian alternative and couldn’t be bothered with the fuss.

One of the best pubs in Hobart. Good choices for drinks, great bar menu and the staff are excellent.

Been going there for years. Went there other day for a work function which I asked to be there because I like food there and the reasonable prices. They sat us in the "restaurant" which is just a big around the on the other side of the bar. But they had a different menu and they charged double the price for the same meals that you could get at the "bar" and would not let me order the food that I usually get witch comes from the same kitchen (i.e chicken parmi for 17$ in the "bar" but 26$ in the "restaurant"). In my opinion it is terrible service, and deceiving business practice.

We had our lunch here and because of the holiday there were less people then usual. We walked passed it yesterday and it looked a bit crowded.

There are 2 menus - bar or restaurant. We chose the bar side and had Tassie Scallops + Seafood Chowder. Food came fast and was nice! The seafood chowder was sooo creamy, nom nom:) good serving portion as well!

The staff were very welcoming, even though we were obviously not from around here, they sounded like your friendly staff back home.

A bit of history: the original hotel was built in
1843 but was demolished in 1967 as the beginning of the plan of building a highway. Luckily the community worked together and preotected the area from further demolition, sadly the hotel was sacrificed but it helped to save the rest of the buildings in Battery Point.

Nice pub in Battery Point, often has an NRL Fox Sports channel on (during rugby league season), good food & Tap Beers. Didn't stay in the accom.

Clean, affordable, amazing location.
Took me back to my childhood with all the 1990s fittings and decor:)
Stumbling distance of some amazing bakeries like Jackman & McRoss
Only downside is that the band stops playing at midnight, which could disturb some people. I was at a wedding so I didn’t check in until 11.30pm which was no problem for me.

Great local pub. Awesome staff always up for a chat whenever they're not busy. Really interesting bunch of regulars. Food is great too!

Finally a place in Tasmania that has great food and liquor prices that are reasonable. A must when you visit hobart. These guys don't rip you off like alot of places in Tassie.

Many aspects of this establishment are exemplary. The guy behind the bar is friendly and efficient. He's also very generous with his glasses of Tasmanian reds. There are 2 menus: bar and restaurant. I ate in the restaurant and while a little more expensive it's quieter than the bar. Decor and setting is tasteful. The jewel in the crown is the food: beautifully presented, reasonably priced and all that you would expect of a restaurant with an eye for detail. Delicious and hearty!

We enjoyed our stay, the location is perfect to explore battery point! The room and bathroom was clean however bathrooms could use updating. Meals are great value for money and some of the best we’ve had whilst travelling around Tasmania.

Rooms old. But beds very comfy. Towels softest ever. Service good and live music great. Apparently great food in restaurant but we didn't get to try

Very friendly, affordable comfy accommodation. The restaurant is top class, the best dinner I've had since being in Tasmania. Great spot A+

This hotel is well situated and an easy walk to the city centre (Elisabeth Street Mall, Markets abd Docks). The resturant on site is excellent. There are also plenty of resturants and cafes aroubd it. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and well appointed. The only issue is water pressure for the showers however they are manageable and a bath is also available. There have been comments on here re noise but we had no issues. The rooms are at the opposite end to the main bar. This is a great place to stay and we will be back here next time we are in Hobart. Family stay with 2 teenage daughters.

Great meal. Part of a large group (16). All the meals came out at the same time. No mistakes. Dining room spacious. Very comfortable. Definitely recommend particularly for families or older people.

Best food I have had in a long time. The presentation was great. The flavors were amazing. Amazing job from the chef and all staff. Delicious!
