Pioneer Lodge reviews
8The rooms were nothing great. Felt unclean. No wifi because they "forgot to turn it on" owner was drunk and filled the lodge up with a rancid smell. All the reviews in the review book there was wrote in the same hand writing (suspicious). Felt like the carpets have never been washed.
Run down and the owners were rude and frankly I felt unsafe.would give this 0 stars if I could not worth a cent!
Lynn was a down to earth woman who left us to our own devices.the place is like a home away from home. No issues at all!
If only I could give 0 star. The host is racist, if you are brown or asian travelling Pioneer, trust me you wouldn’t wanna stay at this place it will just disturb your whole tour. She swore infront of my little one and we were treated so badly that we had to leave from that place. We booked for 2 nights and didn’t even stay longer than 5minutes. It was like a nightmare.
Sure the exterior is a little tired looking, but for simple budget accomodation this lodge is fantastic. Has basic rooms, communal kitchen and a communal longe area with a wood fired heater. Host was lovely and you can see she puts a lot of effort into her place. Beds were warm and comfortable and everything including the bathrooms was spotlessly clean. For a budget option only 15 mins to derby this place is a great option.
Although we were worried to begin with due to the exterior you could tell everything was well loved and that the lady running it really had put allot of effort in.everything was very clean and we loved the black and white shower.it was kinda cool tbh.
Partner and I got stuck in the rain and needed a place to stay. Pioneer Lodge is quaint and homey. Exactly what we needed. Host was friendly and accommodating. Would recommend.
I know it's remote area, but the room and all hotel are very clean. It's a simple but very comfortable place.
