Picnic Point Camping Ground. West Ulverstone. reviews
17Loved this caravan park. We had an extra large site backing onto shrub beside a beach access track. Two nights in a row we watched the fairy penguins emerge from the water and walk up the access track to their burrows. The penguins are a bit noisy at night but that’s nature at its best. There is a goods train that passes a couple of times a day as the train line hugs the coastline. Bicycle/walking paths both ways. Lovely managers and great camp kitchen and amenities. Nice and safe for the kids to play as a quiet park.
This was truely a unique place to stay… highlight was definitely being woken up by a penguin at my door… and the penguin baby feeding sounds… all night… no commotion was ever welcomed more.will be back!
Our favourite place to camp with friends! Wonderful amenities! There is a great Camp Kitchen and an outdoor BBQ space. The toilets and showers are nice and clean. Very close to the beach.
Great sites and very clean and tidy. Perfect place to take walks and enjoy the peace and quiet,
One of the best camping spot, facility nice and clean, campsite well maintained and the most important is view is incredible
We absolutely love camping at apex. Main park or picnic point. Great atmosphere! Great people, beautiful spot. So much to do for all the family. Just a short bike ride to the town. Or the beach on your door step. Angi and Pat do a great job managing the park! Everything is always so clean and tidy. Nothing a problem for them, very helpful. And just beautiful people. Great place! Highly recommend.
Fantastic spot. Good base for touring the area and short drive to Spirit Of Tasmania terminal. Staff friendly and penguins at night were a highlight. Site 44 or 45 has good views over the beach.
Lovely staff and awesome spot with the beach only a couple of hundred metres away!
They have clean facilities and amenities
Highly recommend anybody travelling through
Absolutely stunning beaches
amazing facilities fantastic staff very friendly and helpful
Penguin nightly choir practice awesome
Highly recommended
We had an amazing time. To the point we stayed an extra night. The facility is so well looked after, clean and well laid out. Definitely suited to a quieter camping experience. Perfect for younger children, able to sleep without a lot of noise. Everyone was so friendly and chatty, as it was myself and two children, the adult conversation was much appreciated.
We will 100% be back. Already booked
Excellent caravan park, with quality amenities and service, on the edge of one of the most underrated beaches in NW Tasmania.
We decided to stay at this secret gem last minute, don't know how we landed a site but my God we were lucky to stay in such a magical spot. 10/10 Park with great amenities and even a fire pot to share. Such a perfect location right next to the beach, best caravan park on the north west coast by a million.
Great park. Lovely location. Very well looked after park. Managers are lovely. Highly recommend.
Well maintained caravan park with clean and handy amenities. Great experience for kids, so close to the beach.
Most relaxing beach side park, big sites, the caretakers are really pro active with how the park presents. Some of the best amenities. Will be camping here again and again. The little penguins waddle up the rocks every night, so worth waiting to see.
We stayed in site 25 and it was the best! We had penguins pretty much on our doorstep. Kids loved it. Clean amenities would def come back.
Very clean with generous grassy sized sites with great staff in a top location by the beach.
