Pedro's The Restaurant reviews
57 We really wanted this to be a high-end seafood experience. I was really surprised to see not too many seafood dishes. Of course, there are the basics there, but nothing unique or specialised.
We ordered the seafood platter as we usually jave 2 seafood loving kids who eat all of our food. Unfortunately, today was not their day. They didn't enjoy the fish, calamari, and mussels. I loved the natural oysters. The Kilpatrick were a bit too rich and heavy for us. The mussels were dry and chewy. I thought the fish was pretty good. We are new to Tas fish. There were a lot of chips. The prawns were ok but lacked flavour. The crumber scallops didn't have really any flavour other than crumb. I actually didn't know I had eaten the scallop in one of my bites. The calamari was so tender and delicious, but the crumb was really salty (and we love salt), so it just overpowered all of the crumbed and fried things. No lemon served, which I found surprising.
My wife said the lobster thermidore was delicious, though, so that was a big positive.
The staff were amazing though and treated our children very well, which I'm always grateful for.
Is it a fine dining, upmarket restaurant? I'd say not. However, it is a good family restaurant with a large variety on the menu.
Very good & friendly staff service, a great selection of perfectly cooked & presented main meals, desert & coffee. All within a very comfortable atmosphere. Our group of 4 agreed 100% that we will definitely return. Thanks again to the waitresses for their professionalism.
My hubby and I were up from Lachlan for the weekend Pedro's was recommended. Absolutely fabulous we did not having a booking and it was very busy, we were greeted by the owner who seated us over the water, service was attentive and not intrusive I had half serve of fish chips hubby garlic prawns generous portions delicious amazing night watching the sunset over the water thank you Pedro's
Loved the food - I had 1/2 scallops & 1/2 flathead, staff were friendly, weather was very cold outside but lovely & comfy inside Highly recommend
Our meals where great well presented service was excellent and tge view adds to the delightful atmosphere
Great food, friendly staff, basically no wait time after ordering and the view of the water was unreal
Fantastic! Platter for two was very DELICIOUS. Service was impeccable. Even though there was quite a big party in for a meal our servers were attentive and efficient. I do believe even the owner was running around. We sat in the deck area which is enclosed and was surprisingly warm. Wonderful experience.
Turns out 8pm Sunday in Ulverstone is when the kitchens close. However, the lights were still on at Pedro's as the last (happy) customers finished dessert. The owner kindly offered me fish and chips if that would do me, and it was one of those unexpected perfect meals. Fresh fish in the lightest batter, crisp chips, home made aioli and a delicious salad. And lovely service. Thinking I'll be back on a non-work trip for a more leisurely wander through their menu and during the day, when I'm sure the view would be splendid.
Just disgraceful. Sat down for 30 mins and no service. Left in disgust, and the waitress smiled at us and said ‘thanks for coming’. Never again and shame on you.
Prawn cocktail sauce was watered down. I had the grilled flounder. It was no more grilled than I am. It was cold in the middle. My partner tried some of it aswell. We both ended up crook. I started vomiting and diarrhea at 3: 30in the morning and my partner started around lunch time as she only had a sample. Needless to say very very disappointed. Won't be going back anytime soon.
Never again. Had chicken risotto with roasted cashews on top. Risotto was gluggy and tasteless and cashews were burnt leaving meal with very burnt aftertaste. Nice staff shame about the meal.
Unfortunately, highly dissatisfied with their service. We were the first customers there on a Saturday morning, waited 40 minutes for our coffee, we were told they don’t have enough chips to make a single serve and the staff were trying to figure out things further delaying 1 coffee. The team would benefit from additional training and preparation before starting the shift.
We dined at Pedro's for an outstanding lunch today. The platter for 2 was enormous and so very tasty. The service was fantastic, the girls were an absolute pleasure and nothing we asked of them was a bother and performed with a smile. An excellent experience for our last day in Tassie.
Pedros has a lovely location with beautiful views of the Leven River.
The food was ok, soup was tepid and had to be reheated. Fish was nice.
Staff were surly, disinterested and it was difficult to get any service or a drink.
I don't think we'd go there again.
Other diners also complained about the service while we were there.
Very disappointing evening really.
My advice - go elsewhere.
Overcooked and oily batter, terrible rubbery chips, messed up my order and had to return to pick it up. Gave them two chances, no improvement whatsoever, totally deserve a 1 star review.
Shockingly slow service which was then blamed on a large party that arrived AFTER we had ordered.
Very disappointed we had an extremely rude waitress my pasta was over cooked with sweet chilli sauce killing it as it said chilli sauce of course thinking a warm or hot chilli never known sweet chilli in pasta the presentation was terrible my daughter got 5 prawns and a handful of chips and my partner had fish and chips the fish came out in battered circles few drinks $200 later then my daughter over heard bar staff mocking another customer on how much she had had to drink but were quite happy to keep taking her money not a good experience at all we got up and left no goodbye no thankyou never again
We have a great night here, beautiful views and great service.
Food was great. I would be happy to go back!
Yeah a seafood place that also offers excellent non-seafood meals. The wife really enjoyed her cray, whilst I feasted on a lamb shank! Excellent service, beer on tap, views all supporting high-quality food.
Where do I start. Entree was good had arancini and they were nice. I then ordered linguine marinara and what can I say. The pasta was so overcooked it could not be picked it up with a fork, seafood dry and tasteless and the plate came to the table so hot that the heat cook only be achieved by a microwave which would explain the slop that was the pasta. Had three mouthfuls and left the rest.
Clearly the worst of the worst.
Sack the chef for impersonating someone who can cook
