Parks & Wildlife Service - Cradle Mountain reviews
12 Came today to cradle mountain to show my international family Tasmania… Tasmania Parks and Wildlife Service are pathetic for customer service. I think perhaps it’s not worth international visits… better service at McDonald's. I paid for a two year pass and they treat you like a baby! Very offensive, international visitors stay clear!
Perhaps they’re homophonic or racists.
Extremely disappointed and sad for a government agency. My Advice is to avoid these customer service workers and go anywhere else.
There appears to be a process of learning at the moment. Staff are learning (it appears), signage is poor.
Come prepared as we were told the walk around Dove Lake will take 2 hrs, with stops and lunch, our walk was extended to 2 ½ hrs.
Be patient, be early and ask a lot of questions.
Overall we had a great time, met some wonderful people and had loads of fun.
Great place to go out doors. Beautiful scenery and fresh air. Friendly staff helped me find right walking trail.
Cradle Mt Visitor's Centre is the first stop to buy day- or long-term passes to access the tracks.

Beautiful scenery, simply stunning!
Thankfully the tourist industry has this place relatively well controlled, otherwise I could see it being overrun and destroyed by people who simply don't care about anything but themselves.
The information centre is the best place to get the good oil on what's around.
This place is definitely a must see!
Wide range of displays and information about plants, animals and history of Cradle Mountain region. Park pass and maps are not available here, they can be purchased at the Cradle Mountain Visitor Centre. Shuttle bus will stop here if not full. Importantly there is a nice warm fire and reading area here.
A bucket list dream to visit Cradle Mtn and walk around Dove Lake has been realised ow I'm 70!
What magnificent mountain and lake views were seen. No wildlife but just such a good trip. My photos tell it all
This parks office appears to be closed. Toilets, shelter and walking tracks still accessible, but tourist and information facilities at the new center up the road.
Worth spending a few days there. Treks are well labelled. Take the free bus at the information centre. Make sure you don't missed the last bus.
Helpful staff. Clean toilets. Didn't try the cafe food. Free shuttle service that had friendly drivers.
Make sure you push in at the buses or you won't get a seat.at least that's how it appears to be how to get a seat. Had to wait 3 buses due to people pushing on and jumping the queue. Ruined our visit, which is a pity as it's such a beautiful place
