Old Hobart Town reviews
76 Enjoyable visit to Old Hobart Town!
Excellent workmanship in the scale build of Old Hobart Town. Take your time and look at all the amazing detail, there is so much hidden humour in the placement of the figurines, all telling little stories
For a family of three it was $40 which was ok
We went January 2024 and was advised that the place is actually up for sale so who knows if it was continue in the future ….
Such a cute little place which is maintained extremely well. Kids had so much fun trying to find the little figurines to solve the puzzles!
The location is also beautiful and worth spending some time exploring the historic streets.
We visited the place in winter and there was no one. It was such a peaceful place and visit without any rush and no one was trying to take too many pictures the owner of the place explained us how they built this place in 3 years. He was so humble and gave too many details. They did a huge job.
Tickets price: $15 Adult
Pram and kids friendly
Fascinating miniature attraction of Old Hobart Town. So much intricate detail. Go there and then go round (New Hobart) to find the existing buildings ect.
Such a great place to stop and forget the world for a while. Wonderful camaraderie between visitors.
This place is great! The miniature village is fantastic in its detail.
We went around reading the plaques and then went around a couple more times because there is always something you miss the first lap.
Plus there is the "Where's Wally" style game of searching for particular items.
And the funny situations of some of the little people gave us a giggle.
Brilliant for all ages.
Absolutely loved this place. Appreciate all the time and love these guys have put into making it so realistic. Totally deserve everything and everyone to have a good look at what they have achieved. Well worth it.
Beautiful models of the old Hobart from history. It explains the story from the past, how Hobart was formed and then grew after being stagnant for a few years! They also have a fun small game - find the objects in the model! Pretty good research and effort. Worth visiting
Some much time and effort went into displaying this historic Hobart town. The history is so rich and detailed and really makes you feel immersed in the moment. The dedication taken into creating this can truly be appreciated and highly recommended this as a must visit place in Tasmania.
I thoroughly recommend that you visit this fun attraction. A lot of work has gone into recreating the city of Hobart back in the 1820s and it was fascinating to see all the activities and people who lived there.
The creators have included all sorts of fun scenarios and few hidden figures to find. The area isn't large, but there are a few seats to rest on and nice souvenir shop.
I love stumbling across unique attractions like Old Hobart Town. You can tell a lot of research and effort was put into this endeavour. It would be great if there was a digital element (similar to Mona) and QR code for deeper interaction with each model. The price is expensive but understandable given the effort involved. The gift shop needs some work rather than just being knick knacks.
This place is worth the visit, enjoyed the miniature town and all the great figurines. Spent a couple of hours here, because after reading the plaques you then spend time looking at the building replicas and the laugh at some of the funny poses of the figurines. Great work! Worth the visit.
Very good experience with great historical information. Great staff and very helpful, especially Roz!
Not value for entry fee.to small.kids explore and out in 5 minutes.owner should workout with price.and also consider the review of other people who have the same concer about price. NOT RECOMMEND AT SUCH HIGH PRICE. WASTE OF MONEY, NOT TIME
A lot of detail has gone into the creation.
Would be nice to also see a mini village of Richmond.
Beautiful place to spend time with family. But it is not so big and will take maximum 45 minutes to go around and look at everything.
I loved the miniature trees in the model village which were trimmed using bonsai techniques! Lots of hidden features and such an interesting place to visit.
Had bit of fun looking for the four scenes that were posted in the sign. Had us going and looking a bit harder but eventually we got all four.
If you have kids, be prepared to be treated like convicts and the guy at the reception who thinks of himself as a jailer, will in a rude tone, ask your kid not to touch anything. This is how we were welcomed in. Customer Service just like the old town of Hobart doesn't exist here.
While we could have enjoyed our time here, I've spent my time writing this review in disappointment the way my kid was welcomed in. He's just a 6 year old boy and deserved better treatment and he could have been politely and nicely asked the same thing to not touch anything.
Hope the bosses read this and ensure how to treat others respectfully.
Educational. If you are interested to learn about the Old Hobart Town then I highly recommend this. Also the Restaurant across the road serve good food but maybe come a bit early as they tend to be busy.
