Ocean Dunes Golf Course King Island

Exceptional experience to play golf there. Everything their is just fantastic. Staff were wonderful and made the day.
Nothing else to say just do it. Don’t make excuses. Just go and play there

Upon arrival, Cameron Jones made everyone feel welcome.

Cameron and his family do a fantastic job in running Ocean Dunes, whether it is explaining the course layout, local rules, the signature holes or making a coffee or providing you with a meal it is all done with a smile and enthusiasm.

If you haven’t played Ocean Dunes, it is a must do for any golfer. Such a great golf course with incredible and rugged coastline and scenery, one couldn’t help but love the experience of playing there. For those who have played Scotland and their links courses, Ocean Dunes will impress.

A great way to spend a few days with a group of golfers.

Awesome course, customer service was great, super friendly and their main aim was to ensure everyone had a good time.

Enjoyed the front nine more than the back (I think). Visually all the par 3s are amazing and fun to play.that 4th over the water into a howling head wind, pin at the front and the majority of the green kinda hidden.so good

The "epic par 3 challenge" next to the pro shop great way to end the day. $5 bucks a pop and all money goes to the Royal Flying Doctors.

Look forward to playing again and getting to know the course a bit better.

January golf trip played all 3 courses at barnbougle, played ocean dunes then played cape wickham. Not sure who rates these courses they are all amazing but ocean dunes was best by far out of a group of 12,10 of us rated it the best! Can’t understand why it’s not in top 10 in aus unbelievable holes, unbelievable views just a great experience and test of golf not a boring hole on the course do yourself a favour and play it! Ps take lots and lots of balls

Cam and Amanda run this place like a dream was amazing playing here for a few days and having them just be so nice and helpful nothing was an issue and always wanting to help and make the day and trip better in anyway.
Golf was amazing as well the course is epic and watch the crows eating your balls.

Built on the edge of the Southern Ocean, Ocean Dunes Golf Course feels more like it is on the edge of the world! Located on Australia’s King Island, just getting here isn’t the easiest of efforts.

But in our travels, we have found the places that take the most effort are always the most memorable. We have learned to trust our instincts and follow the seemingly unpromising roads. Going the extra mile that it takes to get to that great coffee shop that you’ve heard so much about. Arriving at that perfectly secluded beach that was so far out of the way. Or searching that back alley to finally find the delicious noodle house that you still tell your friends about. Because it is always in those places that we have been rewarded with the most unforgettable experiences. Our journey to Ocean Dunes was exactly like that!

We were completely blown away by the beauty and quality of golf at Ocean Dunes. Ranked 15th in Golf Australia magazine’s Top 100 Courses in 2020, this was by far the most underrated golf course we have ever played! It seemingly receives some digs for blind shots, but we weren’t once put off. In fact, we have played plenty of blind shots and have come to enjoy them.

Another knock is that the distances from green to tee on many holes would be a long walk, so taking a buggy is advisable. But when you are surrounded by beauty, the added advantage of the cart is that you can sit and just enjoy the views.

The greens rolled pure; all we needed to do was to get it on line and give it enough speed. Overly fast greens would make the golf course too difficult to play, as there would be no way to hold putts. The fairways were manicured to perfection, and the fescue grass played firm and fast. We especially appreciate being able to play golf shots on the ground.

Ocean Dunes was easily one of the most beautiful golf courses that we have ever played. The entire golf course offers stunning views that are a postcard photographer’s dream. Everywhere we looked, the views just seemed to get better. The par 3’s at Ocean Dunes are amazing. And there are some par 4’s that are unforgettable!

Ocean Dunes Golf Course exceeded our high expectations and is worth that extra effort that it takes to get to KI. And once you make it, we can promise you that it will be the golf course that you will brag about to your mates for years to come!

Played at Ocean Dunes Thursday 17 February 2022. What a pleasure and great experience. Helped that the day was perfect. However outstanding was the introduction, briefing, photo taking and spontaneous support (for a lost phone) from the Pro Cameron - and everything done with a smile! And the clubhouse was most welcoming, clean, well staffed (lead by Amanda) with great food and a superb drink fridge to chose from - made great coffees also!

Spectacular, Unbelievable and Amazing best describes our day at Ocean Dunes. Truly a world class golf course.should be on all golfers bucket list.

Outstanding experience, the course is brilliant and the staff were very helpful and friendly. We loved it and can’t wait to go back again soon!

Like the proverbial London bus, King Island waited a long time for a world-class championship golf course to appear, and then two come along at once. Although perhaps not occupying as spectacular (and wind-blown) a site as Cape Wickham in the north of the island, Ocean Dunes, rated 4-1/2 stars, is also set to become a household name in golf.
