NRMA Port Arthur Holiday Park reviews
73Has an extensive kitchen with pots, pans, fridge and great bathroom in solid brick buildings in centre of camp. Short walk from to beautiful beach- Stewards Bay Beach.
A 30 min walk around the bays to the Port Arthur Historic site. Reception has a selection of groceries and frozen meals. The WiFi provided is patchy and slow (probably as a result of many users). The camp kitchen is excellent and there are multiple BBQs for resident use.
We booked 7 nights on a powered caravan site which is very well maintained large level with own fire pit. Amenities are excellent modern and clean camp kitchen BBQ facilities games rooms and a comprehensive childrens playground a few minutes from Port Arthur which has a general store with good takeaway and limited but good staples on shelves. Fuel pumps both Diesel and unleaded in front.
Full facility and fire pit noise is no problems as family at all time. Feel the forest with friendly birds and animals
Best holiday park we have visited. We had the waterview cabin and it was so relaxing. Not cramped in like a lot of other parks. Heaps of wildlife, very quiet. Highly recommended!
We had the powered safari style accommodation. Fantastic. The outdoor bath was such a novelty and added to our experience.
Fantastic location. Access is easy to the delightful Stewart's Bay. The waterfront unit that sleeps 6 has the main bed in the lounge room and access to the toilet is via the bunk rooms.
Deck was just big enough to get us all out there, but not much more than that. Birds and wallabies were a nice addition
Excellent campsite - powered spot (en suite) for our car camper, we had space and privacy as well as all the facilities we needed around us, tidy, clean and we even had an invite in the morning via text for pancakes at the pizza oven. The best campsite we stayed at from 8 sites around Tasmania
Booked the cabin and it came with a fully equipped kitchen and a newly renovated toilet! The floor was a little bit dusty but for the price that we were paying ($269 for two nights) I'm happy to recommend this place. There was another double decker bed in between the toilet and the main room. Also probably the chill-est check in and check out, receptionist only gave us the direction to our cabin and drop off key was a one second thing It's an old school TV so dont expect Netflix or anything. There's a microwave and basic utensils (plates, knives, chopping board etc) and there's a toaster available. Big bin FTW
Loved the bush aspect, great facilities, and so much to see or just relax. Really enjoyed our stay and all wished that we had stayed longer than 2 nights. My friend booked a cabin. It was immaculate and great value.
Wow what a great park! So much wildlife, firepits, heaps of kids facilities, great camp kitchen, bbq areas, pizza ovens, walk to Port Arthur Historic site. Did I mention the wildlife wow! So glad to stay here
Amazing. Picturesque site. You can book a wood fired pizza oven at no charge. Lend table tennis equipment for a small deposit. Heaps of wildlife. The native birds will literally sit beside you on a chair. Open fire places at sites. This is the closest thing to camping without going bush. My kids and I loved our stay.
Stayed in a powered site while travelling in a motorhome, these guys get it RIGHT. Level sites, space between sites, fire pits, good modern amenities complete with camp kitchen games / TV room, additional BBQ areas, and playground. Nice bush setting with wildlife, and walking trail by the bay. One of the best parks we have stayed across Australia.
Excellent place. Location was beautiful, park had pump track, playground, plenty of BBQs. Bunk rooms were a little small, but very comfortable and clean. Large kitchen, very clean. Bathrooms were good and clean, and hot water pressure was delightful, especially after a long day touring around the area
We only stayed for one night but what a lovely site. Peaceful, clean and tidy and lots of wildlife. We had an unpowered site which was great for us. Clean amenities. Only downside for me would be a few more water taps dotted about but small thing.
Amenities were clean and tidy.
Staff were friendly and helpful.
Powered and unpowered sites were well spaced so you aren't sitting on top of your neighbours.
Local cafe and general store within a few minutes drive.
The wildlife is abundant and feeding bags can be purchased at the office.
$44 for a 5 min timed shower and a bit of land for my little tent. Plus I had to wait half a day for a washing machine as there are only two machines that work. That cost an extra $4/wash + $4/dryer. I feel robbed.
Well presented and looked after holiday park.
Good easy access to everything on offer.
Emenities are central and easy access for all abilities. The ablution blocks and laundry facilities are well maintained and clean. Showers have a 5 minute timer on them.but hey, if you take longer than that then I doubt you are actually having a wash
I have to add that the bbq areas provided are next level and a great idea to have the open fire places under cover with tables and seating provided
Having said that, if you are able to, bring your own fire wood and a small tomahawk or axe
Prices vary. I paid $44 for the 2nd last powered sight.but I had a good, peaceful rest and everything got recharged.
Happy camping
Stayed in a cabin here - it was huge and had everything we needed! Great facilities, convenient location to see everything around port Arthur and the room and bedding was clean and comfortable and showers were spotless and had nice pressure and hot water. We checked in late and checked out early so can’t comment on any of the other aspects of the park, but the cabin was great value for the price
Have been staying here for years and the park is great, but the stargazing safari tents are amazing. Such a unique experience while still being comfortable, and importantly, warm. The tent is fitted with a heatpump, an LED fireplace that also functions as a heater, and an electric blanket on the bed, all of which is important for the peninsula weather. My number one choice for accommodation in Port Arthur, these tents and the park overall could not be better
