New Norfolk Hotel Tote Betting Outlet reviews
26Meals are big and good price. They need bigger plates though because the meals only just fit on them
We dropped in on the way to a tour and the place was pretty busy. Thought if the locals are here, we should eat there.
We weren’t wrong. Ordered ribs and porterhouse steak, and were blown away. So tender and cooked perfectly medium rare as ordered. The staff are just unreal. Old school country pub with values that are not seen these days. Ok, it is dated, and may not be flashy like over priced places in the city, but what an awesome meals. Genuine staff that care.
So happy we stopped in.
Ordered the pumpkin soup thinking it would just be a cheap cup of soup, ended up with the best soup I've had in Tassie, in a massive serve.
The table also ordered spring rolls and garlic bread, both ended up being great food.
The fishermen's plate and 250g Rump steak with garlic praws were ordered by my companions and only positive reviews from them as well.
The chefs special was chicken curry. If you are into tinned peas, tinned corn kernels, Keens curry powder and dry overcooked chicken, this is the place for you! I will remember this meal for a very long time and give one star because the beer was cold.
Good place for dinner when you just want dinner. Food is basic, well cooked and serviceable. Don't think they have changed the menu since the place was built.
Probably the worst steak I've ever attempted to eat. Attempt as in couldn't eat it. Full of fat and gristle, tougher than an old boot, nearly required a chain saw to cut it. The Hartz sparkling water was the tastiest thing and that had no flavour. Disappointing won't be back.
Quaint country pub. Huge meals. Three of us ordered chicken parmigiana and none of us could get through it all. We all had to ask for take away containers! Would definitely recommend
Food - 2 stars. One meal ok, the other not. Steak and vegetables -
Peas hard, carrots cold, potato bake lukewarm and sweet, mushroom gravy sweet, steak gristly. Broccoli with cheese good. Little response when advised.
Missed the photo op unfortunately, so you will need to take my word for it haha!
Visited this hotel many times as it is a popular local spot
Meals don't seem to vary with different chefs which is good as you know what to expect.
The menu is is huge lots to choose from, I have been at rather large tables at times but serving doesn't seem to take long.
I would describe the meals as having a home cooked feel, very nice but nothing to wow over. I would like to see new plates for the half serves as they are served on plates that I see everyday in the staff cafeteria and gives me more of a cooking for heards feel'
Everyone have dined with has said they have enjoyed their meal so the meals are definitely crowd pleaders
I have always had okay meals there with no reason to complain, but PLEASE, please remove the garlic sauce from your menu, it has no taste and its glug not a smooth sauce. I have tried it twice now and it has totally ruined my meal
Couldn't be more happy with the teams support as me and my parent search for out lost phone. Everyone went above and beyond to find it, thank you again!
I went here last week with my service dog an the staff where super friendly an very accommodating there was plenty of space easy access for disabled people an the food was perfect. Thanks for the grate meal an service.
Good meals. Lots of customers so I would book in advance if you want to get a table. Has poker machines
Great value yummy meals, always keep coming back, it's always quite full so book ahead. "The pub" as we call it is a favorite place to eat out at, and we're from Hobart. Worth the drive.
We had a lovely lunch, used the Entertainment Card to get our second meal free and thoroughly enjoyed our time at this traditional, country town pub. Excellent portion sizes and service with a smile.
Had lunch at the pub for the first time. Ordered the super schnitzel expecting it to be a bigger than standard one. What I got was more than that! I don't photograph my food but it needs to shared! So large but very tasty. The other meals were large portions, cooked as requested and very reasonably priced. Staff were really friendly and I will be back! Next time it will be the standard schnitzel! Thanks for a great meal.
Dads favourite place to have a chat with the locals and of course dinner. Kristy and her team are awsome!
When you advertise fish fillets on your menu. I.e flounder, please advertise it crimes flounder fillets. It was bad enough it was frozen and thrown on top.of already soggy chips that were over cooked. The tartare sauce was disguisting. For a state that prides itself on seafood. Pretty bloody disgustingly poor effort, EXTREMELY VERY VERY POOR EFFORT.
We just had our CWA Christmas lunch here and the food was great. Everyone at the table had something different and not one bad thing to be said about any of it. Thanks Allyce for the great service.
The food was kinda bad, the potato bake tasted like it had powdered cheese in it and mushroom gravy tasted idly like the cheese. The pork roast was kinda dry.
Wouldn't come back
We pulled in after drive from Devonport for lunch, ordered the lamb shanks and veggies, bloody sensational, if I lived in Hobart I'd drive up every Sunday just to have this for lunch every time. Best home cooked veggies, broccoli and cauliflower cheese was a stand out as were the spuds, carrots and peas, gravy was superb. Lamb was falling off the bone and full of flavour. It was busy and I took 1 star off for all the pokies and gambling going on.
