Park and amenities were clean. Park was quiet and within easy walking distance to town and the Cliff Walk. Park manager was friendly and accommodating. Will stay again

Stayed at this beautifully located Caravan Park with my daughter. Didnt want to leave. Pete and Di are in charge of this little treasure. Two lovely, kind people.

New Norfolk Caravan Park
NEVER will we go back there again.

The cabin smelt like a combination of a dog that needed a bath (I love dogs) and stale cigarette smoke.
Upon arrival at our cabin, after parking our car, I had to wait for my partner to go in our cabin to put lights on as it was so badly lit I couldn't see in front of me.

My partner went to pick up our friend (not staying at the park) from the gate (again as the park is so poorly lit) as we were going to drive in one car to a celebration we were attending, and she was quickly going to change in our cabin as the party was fancy dress. The directions the park manager had given us offered two options to drive to the gate, in which my partner chose the shorter (more obvious route). Avoiding yellow (not white) bollards with no reflectors caused him to drive into a low lying cement and rock structure that blended with the road causing substantial damage to our car (and not the parks property as accused by the female manager which she also told the police).
A very toxic female manager accused him of drink driving (he was not drunk), tried to take not only HIS keys but also the keys of our FRIEND who was picking us up. Wait it gets worse.
The female manager tried to hold us against our will, by having their security guard block the entrance with his vehicle. She would not let us leave even with multiple requests UNTIL we threatened legal action. She involved the police who breathalysed my partner, at the function we were attending and it was proven he did nothing wrong and was not drunk.
It ruined what was supposed to be a happy night, over the female manager having a power trip and going overboard.

Good venue but unfortunately being very near the river the jet skis and some power boats mucking about made it noisy

Very well maintained caravan park with friendly hosts Our kids enjoyed riding their bikes around the park & along the river up to the brand new playground.
The amenities may be a little dated but they are very clean.
There are lots of on-site caravans, however it was always nice and quiet & the locals were friendly. While the caravan park is next to the river and public walking track, we never felt unsafe.
A great spot for day trips to New Norfolk and not too far from Hobart.

We rang late and the owner was very kind and left keys in box for us and said we can pay in morning. The park was clean and lovely. Thanks again as most parks close at 6 and won't do that

Really tight, short spaces. Choose between having an awning or having a car space.cant have both. Everything is accessed by a key including the front gate which is not illuminated at night so getting the key in to open the gate it a pain. 5 minute timed showers, paid bbqs in the camp kitchen. Minor quibbles really.
Would I come back? Yes.

We’ve heard that there have been thefts there, not sure if to stay or not.
Can anyone comment? Thanks

Very disappointed - wanted $50 for an unpowered site for 2 single person tents. The electricity was off for hours so we couldn't wash our clothes, shower or eat. The camp "kitchen" has two hot plates and a BBQ, (get your 20 pieces ready! They probably collect $2 a week max by getting you to fossic around in your ash tray or go to the shops for change.) The so called kitchen/communal area is under an open veranda, because you know, it's not like Tasmania ever gets cold, wet or windy. And the outdoor gas bbq was filthy. Even if you wanted to clean these areas before you ate not cleaning equipment was available.

Very friendly people, very clean toilets and showers. Washing machines and dryers and some more stuff are available. The Park costs something here, but it's worth it.

Very clean amenities, quite even when busy. We had great meals at the Star and Garter hotel. Very surprised to find a Woolworths and McDonald's in town.

Extremely unpolite customer service.

We arrived at 8 pm and called the number presented on the front office door (the light in the office was on and there was an information on the door to call this number if there’s nobody in the office). Someone picked up immediately, I explained that we would like to stay in the caravan park tonight if possible and we’re at the gates right now, they asked ‚what do you have? ’ and I said we have a campervan but we would like an unpowered site if possible. Then I got an answer: ‚OBVIOUSLY you didn’t check our opening times as we’ve been closed for 2 hours now, you cannot stay at our caravan park, go somewhere else’.

Instead of letting me know straight away that they’re sorry but nobody can help us now as they’re closed, or recommending us a different campground, I just got a very rude answer that nobody wants me at the campground. I’m not sure if it’s a matter of wanting to stay at an unpowered site or maybe my foreign accent? I don’t recall being treated this way anywhere before during my 10 months travels through Australia.

We had to drive around 40 mins in the rain at night which we wanted to avoid due to bad conditions and a lot of wildlife on the roads. At least we’ve seen a tasmanian devil and we didn’t have to spend money to support this unpolite caravan park so I guess it’s a win-win. As long as they keep treating people in this way I don’t recommend this place though.

Clean, tidy Park with very friendly management and staff willing to assist with any problem.
Safe, secure and very quiet. Dog friendly also.
Great park and town for a stay any time of the year.

Met some friends there for an event in the park adjacent. A great place in a very convenient location.
