National Trust Old Umbrella Shop reviews
15 Amazing National Trust Umbrella Museum and shop.
There is a great museum room with history of the store, now the ONLY umbrella shop in Australia.
The shop has loads of beautiful, quality umbrellas for sale, and other local souvenirs. The store is gorgeous and the staff are very friendly and helpful. 10/10.
A very quant little shop. Right from the front door it was very appealing to enter. Love the cash register and the original Cabinetry. It’s hard to picture in its day the amount of umbrellas and gift lines, that were stocked here. It really would have been a site to see. The ladies who were there on Thursday the 31st August 23, were very friendly, happy to chat.
It is also stroller friendly.
I would like to suggest maybe having the display umbrellas/ original gift lines, dated so you knew how old they were. As well as templates and/or diagrams/ process on how the umbrellas were made, with what material etc. Thank you for keeping the history alive.
I walked into this shop and 2 ladies looking after shop were the best at banter. They were fun to chat to and had a sweet little old collection and history of the shopfront and umbrellas. Surprisingly, the Blunt Umbrella brand in stock was really well priced, we visited again another day to buy and sadly it was different people who were looking after the shop that day. Either way, very cute shop.
I love shops with character and charm. The ladies do know how to upsell as well. I went in for a post card, came out with Umbrella, artwork, tea towel and earrings.
Cute little shop with a couple of friendly, helpful ladies. They do have some gems in there.
You should not miss this beautiful shop with small museum. Variety of umbrellas, friendly staff, and souvenirs.
This place is a true piece of living history. The staff here are wonderful and offered us plenty of advice for our Tassie Tour.
Pleasant shop with a variety of umbrellas. Small selection of quality Tasmanian and Australian gifts. A small museum with stunning old umbrellas. Really friendly staff.
If you need a rain shield or want to step out in 19th Century style, you'll find you feel as fine as you look at The Old Umbrella Shop! Beneath your parasol, the world is all a smile that makes you feel brand new down to your toes. Keep the Sun and precipitation off your chapeau with a fine selection to choose from.
Went to the national trust old umbrella shop in Launceston on our only day in town and walked into the back section where all the displays are, the room was full of people and one of them I believe it was pompous woman 1, looked down her nose at me which was difficult as she only came up to my shoulder and said “helloo” I said hi and suddenly from the shop one of the assistants I believe it was pompous woman 2 called to me “sir, sir” you can’t go in there, the curators are attending to the displays, you will have to come back another time, she was obviously too busy to tell me when another time would be so we left.
Let us hope that in another couple of years when we are next in town will be a suitable time.
Got selling postcard (more choice than post office) and nearby have a post office can buy stamps. Friendly staff as well.
Quirky little shop with old world charm. Staff are really friendly and helpful. Nice range of umbrellas and a display of antique umbrellas.
National Trust Od Umbrella Shop. You will find how old the shop is when looking at umbrellas on display in the shop:)
It's a tourist souvenir shop with interesting antique/ old umbrellas on display. Of course they also sell umbrellas. Friendly staff.
The most amazing and historic shop/ umbrella shop that I have ever seen or visited. The staff are amazingly nice informative and friendly not to mention their fantastic customer service. When you visit you will go in to have a look around and end up buying your own unique umbrella. They have so mb any different and amazing umbrellas that I have ever seen. When my husband and I visited we ended up buying a beautiful umbrella with a wooden handle the umbrella itself was black on the out side and on the inside a work of art, clouds and the hands of god with fingers touching another, I think this picture is from the sistine chapel ceiling. Its a must visit when you go to Tassie. Its the oldest umbrella shop in Australia.
