Mt Lyell Motor Inn Queenstown

My lady ordered 2 meals. I got a steak sandwich, she a chicken salad.
I got mine 30 minutes before she did.
Were they waiting for the egg to hatch?
It can't be hard to send 2 meals at once.
Do i start on the drink saga?

Great place to stay for the price. The accommodation might require a bit of work but it’s what I’d expect for what we paid. The meal and associated facilities were enjoyable.

Did not Stay at the Accommodation, we had a meal, it was very disappointing, both my wife and I had the Scotch Fillet was even very below average, would not recommend a meal here.
The price we paid was not worth it, I can see why people walked in and then walked straight out, and go to the other Pub, we won't be back.

Smack bang in the middle of Queenstown!
Ben and his staff were friendly, welcoming, efficient and fun to be around.
The rooms are what you would expect from a motel in a small town, but they are clean, warm well appointed.
The bar area is excellent, pool table and darts for entertainment and a well stocked bar with plenty of local treats to try, and some damn fine cocktails!
A very short stroll to everything the town has to offer.

Room was disgusting.wouldn't recommend to my worst enemy.
Toilet, shower, hand basin hadn’t been cleaned in god knows how long. Hand basin was blocked.
Room had cob webs, dust, dead fly’s and other bugs.

Great location, and that's where the praise ends, tv didn't work, no bath mat, no hand towel, furniture needed work, nothing onsite, no food, no staff, the shower pressure was great, you could get a colonic irrigation if you bent over. It was raining and I was worried the roof would collapse onto us.

Great room, clean, and comfortable. Basic accom but great value. Also, Andrew was a champion, answering our call at 7pm on Christmas evening after our Airbnb host didn’t show up to let us in. Thanks for saving our butts Andrew!

The room was okay but the customer service was not good enough. Their common area/ reception area needed to be properly cleaned as the area was very dirty with flies everywhere.

Not that good, they serf the local people first before the guest my husband was standing at the bar waiting. Then the room was not the greatest, bathroom had broken tiles in the shower also mould. If they spent a little money fixing up the rooms it would be ok for the price it is.

Was clean and simple. Kitchen was closed unfortunately when I visited but the helpful staff had some good alternative suggestions in town.
Reverse cycle air-conditioning worked a treat. Bed was comfy. Shower hot and water pressure strong.

As a three star, it's an excellent three star. Bit of a draught due to gaps around the door, but nevertheless excellent service and a perfectly fine place to sleep and the like.

Traveling over Christmas might be tricky as most restaurants are closed on Christmas Day. Mt. Lyell Motor Inn was the only restaurant operating on the day. Hospitable service and amazing meals. We had a steak and a burger. Both fresh and tasty.
