Mt Lyell Anchorage reviews
12Booked the room for $180 a night, you'll have to book from their website directly. The "bigger" rooms do look a lot better but we booked pretty late so we only got into the Sassafras room. First of all, keep in mind that this is a heritage accommodation so don't expect anything extra modern and fancy - however, they do have the best shower facilities (newly renovated, I think) with bathrobes available and the hairdryer was so powerful I loved it The room was clean and the bed was really comfy too. There's a TV, a mini fridge, some basic cutleries, some complimentary tea and coffee, and a toaster in the room. The host was also kind enough to have brought us a microwave in the common area so we could heat up our food! We came during summer so there were quite some flies flying around. The room is a little bit dark too. There is another room (I think similar pricing) that has a full kitchen and it's a lot nicer so I'd probably recommend booking that one if it's available!
Lovely overnight stay. We stayed in the Blackwood room which was comfortable and warm. The bathroom is awesome and that shower incredible! Host was warm and knowledgeable. We were able to leave our car there securely while we went off on the train the next morning.
We had a lovely stay here with our kids. The accommodation was spacious and well-located. The host was very kind and helpful. We greatly enjoyed snacking on fresh sugar snap peas from the veggie garden.
Great accommodation. Vert friendly staff looked after the band really well (Blues Brothers Revival Band). Lovely food and after gig snacks. Highly recommended.
Great comfy place to stay, super friendly and helpful owner, amazing location, great amenities.
Joy runs an incredible bed and breakfast with comfortable and cozy rooms and fantastic amenities. The bathroom in the main Huon room is wonderful for a couple looking to unwind with a reasonably large bath and a dual shower. I felt very relaxed here.
Love this accommodation. We stayed in the Waratah unit and had everything we needed. Centrally located in the town and walking distance to all conveniences. Beautifully styled and a real pleasure to stay there.
Can highly recommend it, we'll be back.
Very cosy and warm little place let us having a good rest for our next destination. Thanks Joy for all the assistance and information. Highly recommend!
We stayed in the Waratah Cottage. Very comfortable bed and pillows in the double sized bedroom. Bathroom was a really good size as was the shower. Kitchen and lounge was big enough for us. All fixtures and fittings were mostly modern with some being original but this helped add character. We found it a very comfortable and enjoyable stay here for 3 nights - it was very quiet. Kitchen had a food scraps container they use for compost, no stove/cooktop but had electric pan set. We managed to cook dinner here somewhat easily but you are limited to what you are able to cook without an oven/grill/cooktop. There were some supplies when we arrived such as eggs, bread, milk, juice, a few condiments and some oil, a few cereals, and several different types of tea.
Love staying here. Joy is a wonderful host and her property is beautifully maintained, clean, comfortable and is the perfect place for unwinding after a long day.
We stayed in the Blackwood room.slightly inconvenient not having an ensuite but since No one else shares the bathroom it was fine. The entire house was spotless and we did enjoy staying here. The town itself we found very depressing.
This is the place we will stay when we return with our friends in the summer. Beautiful spot. Looking forward to catching up again.
