Cool little dig…good choices on menu. The fragrance of the green curry not to my liking but not bad; even the pad Thai just needed that boost.

Our family stumbled upon Mr. Good Guy during our stay at the RACV hotel in Hobart, and decided to lunch there. We were pleasantly surprised by the amazing food and impeccable service.

The ambiance was cozy and inviting, making it a perfect spot for a family meal. The staff was friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond to ensure our dining experience was memorable. Our kids were so impressed that they insisted on giving this place a well-deserved 5-star rating.

It was a really good experience at the restaurant. Chef Matt made a “regular dinner” an excellent experience. The food, the quality, and the variety of plates and techniques are awesome; definitely, I’ll come back and order. I’ve ordered Weeping tiger salad and spring rolls. Also I’ll mention that the 2 supervisors were really friendly

The food in general was great, some meals were a bit mild and need more seasoning. The flavour was good but could be more authentic.

Food was sensational. Thai crispy fish fillets were a stand out. Amazing sauce. All meals we had were delicious. Staff were friendly but it was a long wait for very poor drinks and then our table was ignored after mains served. Very disappointed with the service.

The place is absolutely lovely, but the food was not what we expected. Firstly, there were a number of items that were not available on the menu - we were told it was because they were busy the night before. Fair enough. After my child chose a curry, we asked specifically about the spice level; we were told it was not spicy. It turned out to be the spiciest on the table, and my daughter was unable to eat it. This was the same with the spring rolls - some were very spicy indeed! My husband's pad Thai was also undercooked, and his noodles were chewy. The rest of the food was nice enough, but these errors really impacted the enjoyment of our family celebration.

CJ and Sue at Mr Good Guy are just absolutely amazing! So friendly and knowledgeable, if I could give more stars I still don’t think there would be enough. So informative about where to go and what to do and see to make our stay in Hobart the best it can be! I honestly can not say how amazing and wonderful and friendly these young women have been. Such a credit to Mr Good Guy and the Ibis Hotel in Hobart. Thank you CJ and Sue for making us feel so very welcome, you will be the reason we come back and stay.

Had the scallop and prawn seafood dish for two and fried rice- wonderful!

Went to this place on our last night at Hobart and it was very disappointing. Saw lots of good reviews and articles about this place online so decided to try it.

The food was very average and that's a generous statement. The beef and rice was nice, however the other chicken dish was quite bland. The Bao was good. The rice dessert was disappointing as the rice was undercooked, soupy, and lukewarm.

This place was probably better when it first opened. Would not recommend or return unfortunately.

The lovely Grace and CeeJay looked after us. The menu is a geographically broad array of signature SE Asian dishes, all executed well. $180 for 2 covers with wine seemed steep, but we ate immensely. Will return.

Chinese New Year Banquet - 8 courses of delicious food, lovingly prepared and delivered by professional staff. Each course presented with care and with enough time between courses to appreciate each dish.

Enjoyed a great meal to celebrate the Lunar New Year.service was great, professional but very friendly. Food was amazing, hats off to chef and take away containers were provided when we could not finish it all.

Lovely food, sharing style, dropped plates whenever they are fired and ready which can end up being all at once - would have like to have been able to order a custom cocktail considering they have some cocktails on the menu I’d assume they have a full bar.

My sister and I had the NYE meal at Mr Good Guy Hobart. There was a good selection of menu items with great wine pairings. The food was delivered in a timely manner and was delicious! The servings were large-including salt and pepper squid, spring rolls and chicken potato curry- but we managed to save room for the dessert - yummy cinnamon banana pancake roti and mango sticky rice pudding. Atmosphere as great, really spacious with a great fit out. Service to begin with was fantastic, but after we were served mains that is where it ended. Plates were taken once we finished and we sat for roughly 30 minutes without any follow up and no offer for dessert or additional drinks. The food was fresh but not overly flavoursome. Rice dish came with soy/chilli/ginger sauces to add to dish, but it definitely required more.

Our bill was graciously waived when we found a small pebble in the prawn and scollops dish, most likely hidden in the seafood that was hard to spot in the first instance. The ingredients are fresh and the flavour was spot on otherwise, we do recommend including a serve of rice to help balance out the flavour and make the dish complete.
