Mowbray Hotel reviews
43Well. I had taken my bad review down after trying again and had a decent experience with the staff members that night, some weeks ago. Decided to try again on Saturday 6th January. Not happy at all. Made me regret taking my initial review down. Firstly, count any money you get out, they won't and will conveniently "forget" to give it all to you, forcing you to ask for your own money. Wouldn't have had to ask for the rest of the money if the staff member had simply counted it out when handing it over. Guess I know where my money would have ended up as he did the tills that night. On top of that I don't understand how the price of a drink can change depending on who serves you. To the two gentlemen working that night, it's very telling that you were polite to me every time I was served but rude to my spouse. To the manager, don't bother asking me to contact you. My PTSD and anxiety make that almost impossible. I've spoken to multiple older customers that no longer go there and they say it's gone downhill since the previous manager left and now go elsewhere and I agree.
Friendly staff but no food served after 8pm.
Staying in the rooms is an experience you don't need.
Lovely old pub that the locals love I'm sure but the accommodation either needs money put into it or condemned.
Great meals and great service. We were very impressed and would definitely go there again.
Couldn't eat the parmigiana. Dreadful. Really hungry. Wouldn't feed it to the dog. I suppose i have to get hungry jacks also disgusting but slightly better.
Not the most inviting venue to walk in to, as the smoking area and general bar area faces the bistro entry doors and the patrons tend to make you feel a bit self conscious. But good service and staff.
No chair or small table to put things, people banging and crashing all through the night and loud traffic outside. Other than that staff were very friendly and helpful and the rooms were very nice and clean.
Very good and comfortable rooms with lovely cleaning staff. Maybe fix the swinging banging doors. Bistro was good tucker.
Whipped in n whipped out of the gaming room to play some keno
The lady serving was lovely and polite
It's great to have a chat with the locals and the staff are awesome. Just the meals are a little bipolar. Great one day and should of had 2 minutes noodles instead the next.
Great atmosphere, great room service, great management and staff. Comfortable beds, apart from kitchen facilities and bathroom facilities being a walk down the hall.
The food in the bistro is amazing and the staff are very friendly and accommodating. They do the best cheesy garlic bread that has ever existed and the $15 parmis on Thursday nights are scrumptious
I have been traveling for 4 years and this is the worst experience ever.
Insects in the room, no hot water in the shower room, showers are broken except one. I put food in the fridge and the next day there was nothing! Just disappeared ️ I wish I can give 0 star.
Had lunch at the Mowbray Hotel today. We live the other side of town but were in the area.
Firstly, we would like to commend Kahlia. She was so friendly and professional. Kahlia is a real asset to the establishment.
The food was beautiful. I had the Seniors roast chicken and vegetable meal. Chicken was very moist and vegetables cooked to perfection. Hubby had the tropical parmi, salad and chips which was well received.
The amenities were spotless.
Well done Mowbray Hotel.
Beautiful clean place. Lovely staff. The food is fresh clean crisp chips. Can't fault anything with this place.
Good pub food and accomodation was good value. Venue is very nicely presented! Staff were all lovely, especially Leah who was very helpful and friendly.
Room was ok but the check in was the worst I've ever experienced. The process was so bad I had to walk away and send my partner to deal with the person serving. The girl called Tenille that was serving was both rude and unprofessional. Also of note is we were advised that you could only check in if you had a credit card and debit cards were were not accepted as a deposit.
- Bistro review - They fit us in easily at last minute for Val day after our plans went south. Great service. Really yummy cheese, bacon garlic bread. My steak was super tender and mushroom gravy was delicious. Will definitely be back!
Bad place to stay.guests constantly slam doors 24/7.hot water in mens bathroom doesnt work properly let alone NO PRIVACY, NOWHERE TO HANG CLOTHES, NOWHERE TO HANG TOWEL.hardly had any sleep here from 11/3 to 15/3
The worst place in my life that i have ever stayed. Rooms were horrible. Bed sheets, blankets were not washed properly. Staff behaviour was also not good.
Strongly not recommended to anyone.
The room view was terrible, the windows didn’t have mesh on them to open without a bird flying in. The sheets and pillow cases were still dirty and there was stains everywhere.
The shower head leaks all night, the hot water ran out after 2-3 minute shower, and the shower drain wouldn’t drain the water - it was clogged, not as clogged as the toilet which took 3 flushes to properly filter. The dishes were dirty and the place was dusty. It was good for a one night stay between travel but do not recommend even if that’s the case. As stated the food was amazing but everything else was just so poorly presented. I’ve paid less before and received better service.
