Mount Gnomon Farm reviews
25Really cool vibe here, food was very Tasmanian what we loved the most was getting to see the pigs and what looked like a hundred piglets running in the paddock!
Great location once you arrive, visited for Christmas Market. Parking could be improved, maybe try mowing the grass into lots like agfest. Only toilets I could find were portoloos so not sure how they use building for other events. Worth the visit.
We visited for a valentines day dinner, food was delicious and the venue was beautifully decorated. Will definitely be back for other events!
Went to a special Valentines dinner tonight. The food was very yummy️ plenty of food and it was absolutely delicious
It’s been over 2 months now that we have been waiting to receive the rest of our order that we were told by the driver when it was delivered that there were items missing. Shocking communication and frankly fed up! Will never support this business again and spread the word about our experience.
Fantastic afternoon with the TSO. Great venu on the farm. Good food and very friendly, relaxed atmosphere.
Great setting on hilltop with views. It is very noisy but well heated.
Sound system not quite up to scratch.
Beautiful countryside not far out of Penguin. Went for their Autumn Feast and to see Sunflowers. Cost $10 entry and pre-book. Sunflowers were lovely. Lots of photo opportunities. Many different varieties with huge bees buzzing around. Best time to see flowers February and March.
You could walk around property and see the pigs and other animals. The garden and orchard was at its last and showed evidence of neglect which was disappointing (probably due to Covid and unavailability of workers). The onsite accommodation for these workers was not anything to be desired.
Mount Gnomon Farm sell their produce at various Markets in Tasmania and known for its meat products.
Was very disappointed by the lack of staff to provide for the crowds they expected due to prebooking. Queues for meals and then again for drinks were ridiculously long. The food was very expensive. Corn cobs $6. Our group did not buy food as we had eaten. Bring a chair or rug.
The new barn will definitely be great for functions but on this occasion most people were outdoors due to lovely weather.
Loved the flowers but sad to say I would BYO lunch.
It needs a lot more work done to it. Outside wedding, grass could have been cut. Ground very uneven. Not good for people with disabilities. Toilets in another building and we all got wet.
A lot of room for improvement.
This place and produce has so much potential but the experience and execution were lacking. Despite the challenges that are faced by all businesses and hospitality establishments in these times, core standards should not be overlooked.
Visited for the Sunflower tour set arround sunset, photographers paradise. Loved it, definitely recommend.
To state the obvious, it's a farm - wear shoes accordingly. Believe people can take their Dogs with them. Barn looks great for special events.
Was windy but inside was very warming & inviting in the big hall with a most peculiar wood fire with vertical fins on it which warmed up the big area very well. The Food was nice & the apple pear crumble was delicious with the icecream. 1st time here they had tours of the farm but unfortunately I forgot they were on. So maybe nxt time.
Stood around for 40 minutes waiting for them to make a coffee, kept serving people who came after us instead completing our order.
Went for father's Day lunch, nice food and grounds. Lunch couldn't of been more organised in ordering and serving. Had to wait for part of meals and so other food ended up cold, some of us had finished our meal before the rest of the group (of 5) got theirs. Would of like to seen a few more animals and things to do after paying $30 to enter and then had to pay for meals, food on top. The $30 really only covered going onto the property, number of animals to see could be counted on one hand. Could be made into a excellent tourist place with a bit more planning and value for money.
Went there to see a Burlesque show & dinner, food was good but could have done with more meat.
Was hoping for a unique foodie experience but was given the opposite, food took too long to come out, food was cold as was the atmosphere cold and drab and no customer service, won't be going back bit of a bummer, but if you like fennel in everything give it a go
Great venue to visit for a luncheon, the service from all the staff was fantastic, the shared platter very tasty, beetroot capaccio delightful and the two desserts to die for. Definitely a return trip on the cards.
I have ordered home delivery twice. The $100 meat pack is great value. I received a variety of meats and small goods which are fresh, tender and tasty. The small goods are exceptional. They don't taste like preservatives or fillers unlike commercial sausages. Highly recommend and will continue to support this local Tassie business.
We are in mandatory isolation after coming home from Singapore and had no vegetables in the house. Mount Gnomon Farm were a godsend! Beautiful fresh vegetables and lots of them, corn, potatoes, onions, garlic, zucchini, lettuce, bok choy, carrots and beautiful fresh apples. Will definitely be ordering again. Thank you.
Lovely setting and ambitious plans for expansion, great food and drink. Very much appreciated the time we spent and the care that's taken with the animals and gardens.
