Mornington Inn - Bar, Bistro, Gaming & Accommodation

I've had family visit from the mainland and they have a teenage son. The boys were going for a walk and I gave them some money so they could get a can of soft drink and a bag of chips at the bottle shop as it's literally the only place to purchase ANYTHING without having to cross a busy highway. They were actually refused service and told they weren't allowed to buy it. This to me didn't sound quite right so I looked up laws regarding the issue. They were absolutely within their rights to purchase a non alcoholic beverage and a packet of chips. It would have been different if the tried to buy a bottle of alcohol but they didn't! So guy in there needs to brush up on his rules and regulations. This was a bit disappointing and a little to say the least.

If you can serve LL&B to kids in the restaurant then you can certainly sell a boy a can of coke at the bottle shop

Good food at reasonable prices can get very loud at times staff member are very helpful and friendly

I'm writing this review because I think it needs to be addressed better
We ordered our meals specifically said no mushroom for one of the meals as the person has a allergy to them after finding mushroom in his gravy when it was ment to be pepper within half hour the person started to suffer from this we mentioned it to the waitress she said she go see about it she never come back so again we mentioned it to another she went out an asked about it we were offered a desert this person had a day off work lost wages because of the mistake made by someone
I truly think this should have been taken at a different approach the person could have needed hospital I really think people need to take more attention to orders this could have been really bad

Nice food and comfortable table seating. The meals were nice and we enjoyed having lunch there. Not a lot of parking and probably won't go back.

Wrost customer service, specially that short Indian guy at counter, he continuously dries glasses and ignoring customers not even greet or look at customers. Not recommend at all if you have self respect.

Cheap price! Therefore you get what you pay for. Rooms were run down.fans, light, lamps not working. Furniture damaged. When I spoke to management regarding this, she acted surprised. No apology, couldn't care less. And I am guessing that nothing will get fixed as she didn't seemed interested. Worst place we have ever stayed at.

Worst meal I’ve ever had! Our whole table agreed we will never be coming back.
Potato was packet potato (and was very lumpy). Chicken was disgusting, even the chips and veg were inedible. The chips had green bits on them, the veg was frozen and had black bits/looked rotten. We left and went and got takeaway elsewhere.
The male staff member at in the gaming area was a complete bogan and unhelpful.
There was one nice female staff member.

First time here won't be back needs a refurbished don't like the carpet in dining area staff had no customer service skills lady serving meals coughed the whole time man was wiping his nose all up his arm and back of hand no I don't recommend this place unfortunately

Staying in the Motel units for two nights. Arrived back to find room hadn't been serviced. Approached reception to be told we don't service rooms. Asked for fresh towels which were provided. We were charged the same amount for both days, no discount for no room service. First time I have encountered this in many years of travel.

Undoubtedly worst schnitzel/parmy in the whole of Australia. It looked promising at first, but you’ll know you’ve been decieved when you cut into it. The chicken was as thin as piece of paper (I’ll give it to them, takes some dedication to make it almost see through) and the batter was as thick and as soggy as a kitchen sponge. Even a McNugget has more chicken than this schnitzel.

Ordered the Vietnamese salad. Salad was soggy and barely edible. At least the calamari was cooked properly or they would get no stars.

The dining room leaves a lot to be desired, very noisy and badly set out but, getting past that, I have yet to have a bad meal here. The menu is huge and they could afford to lose quite a few selections.

Had lunch here with a group of volunteers recently. Everyone enjoyed their meals, especially those with the Lamb cutlets special for $30!

Look the meals were good, especially for the price, the service however was terrible! Its clear that there are new owners, not those who took over a while back. We booked for 7: 30, the conformation email stated 7: 30 to 9. Entrees came quickly, we were seated right next to the toilets despite plenty of empty tables so not real impressed. Mains came quickly, however one main, tandoori chicken could only be best described as child or entree sized, so we went at 8: 10 to order another entree, the kitchen was shut! I watched as a large table of 15 plus were being rushed, their bottles of water and glasses were taken away whilst they were still eating dessert, dessert was not an option for us. Doors were being locked and lights turned off at 8: 30 on a Friday night! Definitely would advise anyone going out for a special occasion to book there, if you want to eat and run, a cheap meal, then go…. But don’t order curried scallops or tandoori chicken because you’ll have to stop at Maccas like we did!

The food is reasonably priced but not as good as it was when first taken over by Shamrock. Very much a hit & miss at a table of 11 people,
It's a shame cause it started off great but going in a down ward spiral

The so called manager was rude, abrupt and argumenive. Did not handle a customer enquiry with any class. Rochelle was her name, she laughed at us and was pointing to the staff. She stormed over slammed a refund on the table and said there that's what you wanted. She is common and overly familiar with the front bar patrons. The dining room staff are her friends and her attitude is followed by them. Sad as it's her parents that hold the licence.

Luncheon in dining room meal of flathead fillets was nice and cheap $16 with chips n salad

In a great location, a great place to go for lunch or dinner. Meal prices are very reasonable and the meals are very plentifull.we never have room for their lovely desserts! If you fancy trying to win a few dollars then you can go into the Gaming room and take a chance.
The staff at Mornington Inn are really great and very pleasant to talk to.
Nothing is to much trouble for them.
If you want to enjoy your meal in a lovely clean and happy restaurant then this is the place to go to.

The hotel and dining area very busy. We had no booking but they looked. Only option to eat in bar. We found a table there and ordered.

Not too long till shared entree. Went away as to get cutlery. Never arrived. Ate with fingers.
Mains average, steak grissly. Both placed over veg which makes it soggy.
Overall an average experience. Wouldn't race back.
