Montezuma Falls reviews
61Montazoma Falls is well worth the visit. We 4wd'd in which is a great track. There is heaps to see on the way, rainforest, native bush, old mines. Highly recommend!
Epic. Definitely worth it. Driving to Roseberry from Strahan, turn right at the sign about 2km before you hit town. Then follow the dodgy road to the car park at the end. Oh, and even mid summer the track was wet in places so slides and socks is a bad idea.
The falls view from suspension bridge and up close is totally worth the drive and walk upto it. Simply awesome
A flat walk along a wide track, Lush manferns and rain forest.
Highest waterfall in Tasmania at 104 metres.
The fall's them selfs are an awesome sight! But the cable bridge is just sensational! Well, and truly worth the journey
An amazing waterfall, walk an scenery, definitely worth the 10 hour round drive from Hobart!
Visit in May, amazing amount of water coming down. Drizzling throughout the day, shame there isn't a shelter to have your lunch at the Falls.
Very easy trail. Very long walk (we managed an hour and ten minutes each way). Walk does feel pretty long after a while as it is such a straight up hike. Beautiful view of the falls and walk at the end.
Then begins the long walk back! It is a very green and beautiful trail.
Beautiful place for an early autumn walk, wasn't too busy. A pretty cruisy 3 hour walk, although I'd say allow 4 hours if you're like me and stop to take pictures of mushrooms every few meters!
The suspension bridge was a little daunting, but it was definitely worthwhile for a great view of the falls.
Please remember to take any rubbish home with you - don't be that guy.
Worth the 10k walk. Easy trail on old railroad bed with beautiful fauna and flora along the way. Very impressive waterfall.
Easy walk but you need to be prepared to walk 3hours (10km) to see the amazing suspension bridge and the magnificent waterfall.
Amazing falls and can walk through a little tunnel and amazing suspension bridge! 10k return flat easy walk- takes a couple hours.
It was a lovely way to spend a morning. Walking through the rainforest over the wet, muddy track, ducking under fallen trees, and climbing over fallen branches to get to Montzuma Falls was lovely. We also saw lots of little waterfalls on the way and a cave, but it was so spectacular when we reached Montezuma Falls. A spectacular 140 meters drop waterfall (the highest drop in Australia) with a swinging bridge, which was fun to cross. Magnificent morning.
Long arduous walk and it felt like the path went forever, looking at the same scenery. Very wet, cold and muddy. Don't do this walk if you have any injuries or excisting as there is very little to no places to sit down and rest for a bit.
Beautiful falls, worth the 5k trek in (&back out!) The trail can get muddy so I’d be mindful of that - especially it’s raining when you go!
Track is about 12km round trip but easy walking. Can be a bit wet so wear hiking boots or shoes you don't mind getting muddy. View is absolutely amazing and well worth it!
Mission of a walk with children! There is an area to leave your caravan at start of the drive, near turnoff, if towing. Walk along an old mining tram line thats been removed. The end is very rewarding though! Spectacularly high falls, suspension bridge to walk across and an old mining Avit you can walk in with massive spiders in there.
This is a great walk to one of Tassie’s highest waterfalls. Following the historic tramway is easy along a mostly flat trail. There are a few wet and muddy sections so sturdy hiking shoes are advisable.
This was a very long (3hrs rtn), easy walk and the path was extremely saturated with water. I would highly recommend water proof shoes as it was a bit uncomfortable in just trainers that got wet. There was an old mine shaft along the path that is clearly marked and encouraged to be explored, which I wasn’t expecting and found pretty interesting. There were huge spiders on their egg sacks! The suspension bridge was really cool! The falls were beautiful and super tall at 104m. The road leading up to the car park is sealed until the last kilometer when it turns into a gravel road. No room for van turning, they need to be left at the bottom. Our kids did this walk, with a lot of whinging lol take lots of water and snacks!
