Mission Shop Youngtown reviews
13 I went to this place to ask about donation of few items I had and later took a tour of this place.
While I was browsing around the store this one man “who was one of their volunteers “ came up to me and my friend and asked us to not speak in any second language and also strictly said asked me to only talk in English/their language.
He said miss only use our language to communicate or else we will get booked.
Also he was continuing looking at us with his judgment racism view and making us uncomfortable.
We literally left the store within 5 minutes because of his inappropriate/ insulting behaviour towards us.
He was totally being racist to us.
Fantastic op shopping experience.
Delicious, very reasonably priced food from the cafe served by lovely, friendly staff
Quite a large store. Compared to other Mission shops in the Launceston region this one seems to have a lot more stock, especially furniture. Well sectioned although I'm not sure why the 'new' (liquidated) stock needs to be near the checkouts in every mission shop, it feels tacky.
The main thing is that a lot of old, dusty, junky stock doesn't turn over and probably needs to be recirculated to other areas or at least cleaned. Brick - a-brack, crafts, baby toys for example. Every time I visit I can always spot a few items that have been there for years.
I'd love to see more effort in the book section. It's rather large and cluttered. I think I would buy more if it was easier to navigate.
Fantastic place. A great variety of plants and accessories, friendly staff and good advice. Highly recommended.
I was very suprised to find out the store was mostly furniture upon entering. The clothes section is still a decent size but lots of things in the store are quite dusty. Would be a great place to buy second hand furniture as the furniture was well priced
Huge warehouse of stock.well managed.displayed and good quality and ranges worth a hour or so looking at the stock
Love this op shop. I find it’s better for furniture and home decor than clothing. Limited clothing range but can still find bargains.
A great variety of new and used items. New furniture is a bit overpriced given it's a second hand store but they do have sales up to 20% off. Negotiations also aren't on offer which is a shame. Besides that, the staff are helpful and the store is well layed out and spacious.
Always a great OP shop. Staffed largely by volunteers and vulnerable members of our community. Good mix of classic op shop finds and some higher end products.
All proceeds go to community support.
Go there and spend a tenner.
A very interesting store, lots of items, new and old for sale. A great cafe with excellent coffee and friendly staff loads of car parking
Friendly staff however clothing section is very low on men's and mid sized kids clothes. Was told that there is lots of stock in the warehouse but hadn't been brought out.
People in the shop followed me around like a criminal and I got too the counter the bloke was so rude I can not believe this is a Christian organization just wow.
Guy on the main cash counter was so rude. Talked as if i m not paying rather taking things for free. No manners
