Meresta Eatery reviews
36The food was ok. I got the squid with salad instead of chips+salad…there were 9 small bits of squid and the salad consisted of 1.5 cherry tomatoes, a few cucumber slices and mostly lettuce.for $29 that was pretty overpriced. My husband got a pizza which was fresh and nice (the base did need more cooking though). View is lovely.
Generally, in small towns, there is a dearth of options to dine, but Meresta Eatery is one of those places that prove the only option to be the best option. As tourists, we visited this place for the first time, and our pleasant surprise, the host, has received us well and served with our very customised version of our coffees (super duper hot). The ambience was good. They have a nice outdoor balcony, which has great views. Atleast did turn up in a good experience for us.
The restaurant is quite average. The only worthwhile thing is the view. The ceviche was bitter, the pizza was okay, and it's the only place serving Moscow Mule in a glass. Wouldn't come back at all; the quality was severely lacking.
The place is very well located. View of the bay and the beach.
On the other hand, the cooking needs to improve!
Uninteresting fish and chips
Great spot for coffee and a hot breakfast. Good atmosphere and location. Would definitely recommend if you're travelling in this area.
The pizza was good but service wasnt. I have ordered a pizza, the eatery was def not busy and the lady told me 10 min. While waiting outside on their stunning terrasse, no one had the decency to call my name when the order was ready. I have eat a good but cold $24 pizza. As there is not many option in the area i
i guess customer service is not a priority.
Great food, spectacular views, can be super busy during peak holidays and sometimes hard to find a park but worth a little walk to get to.
My partner and stayed in Binalong Bay for five days and had dinner one night at Meresta and coffee on several occasions. The cafe is in a fabulous location, across the road from the beach. The service was first class on every occasion we visited and the food excellent. Loved the selection of Tasmania wines; all in all if you are the area I would advise drop in and check it out, I doubt you will be disappointed.
View amazing. Food very average. 15 minutes for our $130 Seafood Platte to arrive. Nothing special.
Visit Tasmania's version of Byron Bay (before everyone found it). View from this restaurant is superb.
Chicken burger is a must, one of the best I have had. My son enjoyed his pizza.
Amazing view. Food was spot on. We had fish and chips, salt and pepper squid and Atlantic salmon. Delicious food, friendly staff and great views. Highly recommended.
Breakfast was disappointing & expensive. The hash brown was actually an oil-drenched potato scallop, and the gluten free bread I paid extra for was only 1 small piece & wasn’t cooked properly & was mushy - not sure it was sour dough as per the menu either. The coffee & the rest was ok. Lovely view.
We had the prawn ($26) and BBQ chicken ($24) and they were some of the best woodfire pizza I've ever had. The prawn has chilli flakes so is a little spicy. Generous toppings on both, and a deliciously chewy and flavourful crust. The ambience is very nice for dining in too, including some bar seating out front that looks out over the ocean, but a shame the weather was drizzly and cold that evening so we got takeaway. But the pizzas stayed piping hot and were no less delicious.
Amazing food and incredible outlook on Binalong Bay! We had great pizza here for dinner and came back in the morning for breaky by the ocean for a very reasonable price at this location! On top of it, it’s a very veggie friendly place which we loved?
Popped in for a coffee and cake. Very friendly servers. Great long blacks & caramel slice was delicious. Indoor or outdoor balcony seating optiins. Reasonable price
Nice scenic views of the beach from the inside and outside. Was not very busy when we went, and staff was nice. We ordered the fish and chips, and the squid which were both just OK and were lacking in flavours, including salt.
Very friendly and welcoming staff, the prawn pizza is delicious and highly recommended, Kirkpatrick oyster is very nice too! Even though it's the only restaurant in the surrounding area but the quality is extremely well maintained.
On a recent weekend away in Binalong Bay we had some amazing takeaway pizzas one night and were so impressed we went back the following night for a sample of their eat-in service. Nothing was too much trouble and the food and quality of service was very good. Kilpatrick oysters and cocktails were a stand out and the selection of desserts was good. Definitely should be on your list of places to eat around St Helens.
Would recommend the pizzas to anyone, especially the Gluten Free base. Best gf base I have ever had. The other pizzas looked so light and airy. Large variety of items on menu other than pizza. King Fish sounded amazing. Staff friendly and knowledgeable. Please call in and try for your self.
Amazing pizza! And friendly, fast service. We came for dinner, but next time we’ll try come for lunch to enjoy the stunning view over Binalong Bay.
