Mavista Picnic Area & Walking Track reviews
13A magistical short, easy rainforest walk where you will experience layers of rainforest and open canopy. Lovely creek system and an array of mosses, lichen, fungi, ferns and tropical flora - so close to Adventure Bay- worth the visit
Healing trekking with many eucalyptus trees
The air on the promenade is clear.
It rained today so I went for a walk.
Great spot for bushwalking. The air is one of the freshest around the island and the lush green vegetation makes you feel connected to nature. A place worth stopping by when visiting Bruny Island.
Cool shady but muddy track. Wear well covered hiking boots. Didn't see any waterfall, just a gushing stream. Lots of ferns and wild toadstools and mushrooms. Generally aan easy track but ground can be covered by large roots.
Great track, be careful of leeches and make sure you stop when you reach the wooden markers.
Lovely and refreshing walk in the forest. Being in nature is so serene, beautiful and refreshing. Come here as part of the day tour to Hastings cave, Tahune airwalk tour.
Nice and very easy trail.
No necessary need trainers if coming in summer time (I was wearing Birkenstock).
Only one way up and same to come back; it’s about 15 to 20 minutes trail.
Nice short walk up the creek line. You can venture past the bollards but it can get quite muddy
This place is so green and lush. It feels like you're walking back in time. Could spend hours wandering along the track.
Stunning forest walk, feels very energising and rejuvenating whilst walking in this calm and cool forest.
Many people think this is just an easy bush walk.
No way! This was one of the hardest real adventures in my life. Don't try after rain because you might get seriously injured.
Having said that, it was one of the most enjoyable exercises too!
I'm sure many of the visitors just experienced the superficial part, which is an easy nice short bush walk but you can push yourself really hard and try to go beyond your maximum physical capability if you decide to go to the real adventure.
However, just be careful and be prepared
The picnic area has seen better days and there is no table there anymore but the walking track is well maintained and worth it for a scenic stroll to the rainforest/fern area. There are a couple of bench seats to stop at along the way.
Actual Picnic area is lacking BBQ, toilets and rubbish bins but a great shelter in a lovely little known location. Mavista falls track rapidly degrades but is doable, approx 1.6km one way about 40 mins. Kids had a great adventure.
