We have occupied a berth at this marina for almost 4 years and have been extremely happy with the friendly staff and high quality marina itself. The attenuator has made a massive difference since it was completed and works a treat. In the last couple of months we have become temporary live-aboards and can confirm that the evenings are equally as comfortable. The marina is conveniently located to shops and conveniences and only a 20 minute drive to Hobart. It is also in an ideal location to access all the beautiful waters of Southern Tassie. The slipping facilities are first class with knowledgable staff at hand. Future plans for the marina look exciting and I look forward to watching them develop. Thanks Phil, Fiona, Justin and crew.

For health reasons I recently had to move from my mooring to a marina. I chose Margate Marina and couldn't be happier - helpful, considerate, knowledgeable and efficient staff, and friendly and peaceful atmosphere all-round.

The Margate Marina is well laid out with modern services and is very well managed by the Margate Marina team including Fiona, Philip, Dion, Gary and Justin who are all terrific to deal with.

We have used the slippage service twice and have particularly found Fiona and Justin to be always helpful and able to accommodate our needs which have included last minute changes to the initial booking time as a result of delays in parts arrivals or availability of service providers.

Overall a great marina with efficient and professional management.

I’ve used Margate Marine for 14 years I’ve found their staff extremely competent in all aspects of boating and always willing to assist. The facilities are first class and convenient and fees competitive

Ive found Margate Marina to be a great spot to live aboard. It's a modern marina with shower/bathroom and laundry facilities. There's plenty of parking and good security for boats and cars. There is an office on site and staff are very helpful and friendly. Happy to recommend this place!

Phil and Fiona at Margate Marina have been fantastic, welcoming and more than willing to help and provide advice and assistance. The facilities are excellent, the fuel berth is easy to access and there is plenty of parking. The marina itself is secure and all of our neighbors have been lovely. Highly recommend!

We have had our catamaran at the margate marina for a few months now. Access to births are quite easy with plenty of room to manoeuvre larger vessels, espcially when there is some breeze around. Access to the fuel dock is also really simple. We have found the staff incredibly friendly and accommodating which has been lovely as we are new to the world of boating and still have quite a lot to learn. We have always found the facilities clean and tidy and have no complaints. Not long after we arrived the marina experienced quite a severe storm which blew in from the SE, which is quite unusual for the area. My husband was on site before sun up, after the weather had been blowing in hard for most of the night. It was quite comforting to see the guys at the marina checking on all the boats in the early hours, as i believe they had been doing throughout the night and fixing any issues before any damage was done to the vessels. This was espcially appreciated as there was lightning striking literally all around the marina in extremely close proximity, so huge credit to the staff and a big thank you for going above and beyond. The marina is gated and very secure. It's also nice to know that there are quite a few liveaboards at the marina who are really friendly and only too happy to keep an eye on your boat when you are not there. All in all, a great little marina in a beautiful spot. We would highly recommend calling in for a brief or extended stay. You will certainly be
well looked after.

For the past two years I have based my cruising yacht at Margate Marina and made trips back to Tasmania to cruise the beautiful D'entrecasteaux channel area. The facilities at Margate have proven perfect for this and the friendly staff have taken all the stress out of leaving the boat far from home.
I highly recommend this marina.

Great place, good people and my favourite place of work. The marina is under construction and they're going to have plenty of new berths when it's all done. You can even just drop by and check out the old Navy Vessel The HMAS Curlew, a key ship in the movie Thin Red Line. She's an old minesweeper turned minehunter and finally retired, left for 20 years in Tassie after her debut in Thin Red Line. ;)

Margate marina seems to be progressing well with good deep water pens, easy access for boats and an amazing vista, also excellent staff Justin, Dion and the crew.

Happy wih all the new upgrades but would like to see the boat ramp with some form of padding or similar where the boats stop to collect passengers and to tie up if launching your boat by yourself.
