Mallee Grill reviews
33 Probably the best way to sum up our experience here is evidenced by the fact that we came here for a feed … twice in the one day. We went for lunch which was fantastic, then the other half insisted that he wanted to come back for dinner!
Stunning from start to finish. The young guy who greeted us at lunchtime was efficient but good fun. And was switched on enough that the joke from lunchtime picked up seamlessly in the evening.
The venue is great, offering something for everyone. There are romantic booths, booths for a few more people, regular tables and counters where you can look out the windows at Bass Strait which is just over the road.
The food was fantastic. I had a smoked salmon and cream cheese roll for lunch, and a steak in the evening. Most steaks come on three sizes which is a great idea. I like a med-rare steak. It was charred on the outside and perfect on the inside. Sauces are rich and thick. Meals come with a free salad buffet which was spectacularly varied.
All in all a great experience … and it is highly recommended.
Had a meal with family on 12th September, party of 11. Food was reasonable, atmosphere was flat but there was no one else in the restaurant so fair enough. After our meal the table was not cleared, we sat for approximately 30-40 minutes after eating and only when the waitress brought out the ice cream that was part of the kids meal did she take two plates away but did not return for the rest. I could understand if it was busy but the place was empty. Absolutely disgraceful effort by the wait staff.
Dined in.staff was great (as a newbe staff), but her trainer made shore we were happy food was good and tasty and waited quite a while at keno Window, but that's no big one as staff seemed busy doing paper work.
Good portion size and fantastic value on Wednesdays as it's $17.50 chicken parmi every Wednesdays
The food was okay, but 31 dollars for a kieve and 'roast potatoes' (which were just two small whole fried potatoes) was a bit steep. There was no table side drinks (had to go up to the bar and buy them) their salad bar was pretty average. Also why is the music SO LOUD. Is it to drown out people complaining about the food? At least the waitresses were amazing, polite and helpful. Probably won't be back any time soon sadly.
Waited for ages for them to take our orders an then got it wrong an they prices are shocking fa what u get dout dnt think we will be returning as this is not the first time
The servers recomendations was brilliant. I think his name was Zack. Last Friday our food was cooked to perfection and our drinks brought out promptly. We will be back very soon, big thanks to Zack our waiter for the evening.
Came for lunch at 1: 30 on Friday during. They weren’t busy and we received our very tasty and delicious burgers before we could go back for seconds on the free, fresh, and, well stocked salad bar. Service was friendly and attentive. Price was reasonable and not expensive. We’ve been to the Malley at least three times over 5 years and we’re never disappointed. Thank you. See you again.
My chicken schnitzel was okay but my husbands steak was extremely gristley and almost inedible. The salad bar was great and the service was good.
We were there for a Sunday lunch with friends!
Great staff, waiters, bar staff and chef's are exceptional and always looking to make your day better. Absolutely recommend the rump steak or the Hawaiian parmi!
Second time in a week we've had dinner there and for the second time in a week it was wonderful.
Had an unreal meal, popped in for lunch believe it was Amanda on, prepared great food for myself and a mate
Found it!
The day has finally come, That is our family finally found a steak house that actually does the best steaks on the central coast!
And the salad bar is to die for.
Keep up the amazing service you guys provide
Had a fantastic meal. The complimentry salad bar was the best we've had in a long time. We had the beef rib which was beautiful and tender. We also had the sausages. Both meals were loaded with plenty of food and full of flavour.
We'll be back next time we come through Burnie.
Great service, great food prepared by a great chef, she knows exactly what she's doing.keep up the good work.
Warm friendly staff. Comfortable atmosphere that's welcoming to children (they get a kids colouring pack with meals). Salad bar was amazing, steak was delicious and the parmi's were delicious. Great that there's a gaming area attached for the adults. Bar staff were fantastic! Definitely recommending to friends and family
Ordinary at best. Steak was paper thin. Plum sauce was runny. Over priced for what you got. On a positive note the chairs were very comfortable to sit in.
We love the Mallee Grill. We usually come for lunch and Amanda is a wicked steak chef. She grills it to perfection, whatever way you prefer and the service is so friendly. The wait staff are always lovely and I have forgotten then name of the lovely waiter (Josh?). I can highly recommend it.
We picked this place for the wake for my father, they opened then venue early for us, cooked food outside their normal hours and generally looked after my family on a day that was very hard on us all. But malle grill made the day finnish on a very high note and everyone had a very good time despite the circumstances.
I tip my hat to you guys
Many thanx
Friendly wait staff, table service provided. Meals were cooked fresh for us. Salad bar was lovely - the pumpkin salad was amazing! Despite our late arrival, we were made to feel welcome and were not rushed out of the venue. Lovely water view from the bistro and super close to the penguins. My family said that the parmas from here were the best they had while we were in Tassie!
