Launceston Tramway Museum reviews
28The place is really beautiful. The detailed information is provided across everywhere. Very friendly staff at the desk.
A fabulous little museum with so much information, the volunteers who run it are friendly and very knowledgeable, well worth it
A great insight to tramway history in Tasmania. Tim, our guide, spent a good amount of time explaining in detail, the trams on display, and the projects under construction.
Loved seeing the old trams and know that they are being used as a museum than scrap metal! Great showcase! Worth seeing! A must!
Loved it, interesting place full of history. Spoke to a great bunch of volunteers how shared some great stories
What a terrific little tram museum. All photos from days gone by. Also had a tram ride up and down the tracks. The volunteers could not be prouder. As they should. You can just feel the happiness. We loved it. Highly recommended. Support this you will love it
Really enjoyed going to see the Tram Museum with my son, there is a lot of history there to learn for the elderly and the young. I will also like to say what a wonderful job your volunteers have done restoring the Tram and I thoroughly enjoyed the ride on the Tram.
Well worth the visit.
I really would love to see some kind of funding some day happening for more to be done.
The museum is very simple, few things to see. There's no much to see actually. But the entrance is on Queen Victoria Museum, so there's a lot to see before going to the Tramway Museum, also there's a Planetary, unfortunately it was closed on Wednesdayafternoon, but still you can see some objects from NASA. It's an incredible experience.
Excellent staff, very friendly, professional and polite, volunteers were amazing. We all enjoyed the ride including my 5 years old daughter. Very old trams but in excellent condition, staff doing really hard work to keep the old things still alive. Definitely worth a visit.
Quaint little museum with some interesting reading and displays. Good if you want to fill in an hour.
Lovely place to visit and go for a short tram ride.
BRIAN and Bradley are very friendly and knowledgeable.
Had a lovely outing, museum very interesting.

I loved the entire Twilight Tramway experience! Felt so welcome and all the gentlemen were so helpful and explanative. It's a do-not-miss destination for families and a fun short ride. I wish they would get more funding to help restore the trams that have been brought back home.
It's a very small place considering the usual image we get in mind when we think of muesum but Inspite of very small space they managed to restore lot of historical information so that visitors can get a feel of tram journey over the past time.
Friendly volunteers that love a chat.
History about Launceston and trams.
Good visit if you're into transport history.
Staff are really nice there and thanks for the story the info being given during the tram ride. I can tell the staff were truely love the tram and what they are doing now. Much respect and appreciate.
Very good display with lots of history of the local trams and the network that served the city. Run by friendly passionate volunteers and a very very reasonable price to ride the tram.
A lovely museum run by volunteers. Lots of fun for the kids and tram enthusiasts. There is a tram that you can ride on too as part of admission.
Even found my old bus stop there. That little kid poking my nose through the little window to see the bus coming at the top of Mary St.
My 4 years old kid really enjoy it. However whole place is very small if you come here and need to park max 1 hour is enough. Been nice to know some history about Tram in Tas in a small museum.
