Launceston Medical Centre reviews
76Always friendly when i visit & the Lady"s are extremely Helpful & Nice. They do a Great job, this is a VERY Demanding role, Well Done & to the Doctor"s.
I had made the appointment through the Hot Doc software featured in online bookings. I was given a mobile verification number, which I entered and was confirmed. When I arrived at the clinic on time for the appointment, I was told that an appointment had not been made via the software. I was able to show the receptionist evidence of my text communication through Hot Doc. She was able to alert the Doctor of this and he was able to see me within 15minutes of my arrival time.
Amazing Medical Centre. I saw Dr Nalika Hendawitharana and she is the sweetest Doctor I have ever met:) I have had bad experiences with doctors before but she is very professional and helpful and made me feel comfortable and listened to:)
Clean friendly and accessible handycap parking Did not wait long. Doctor Lawson was very professional and answered all my questions. I would not hesitate to recommend Dr Lawson.
Launceston Medical Centre is fantastic. Doctors are amazing and all staff very welcoming and kind. Thank you.
All staff are friendly, professional and thorough, and wait times are not too long. The evening and weekend walk in clinic is affordable and efficient - a breath of fresh air in the Launceston GP arena.
When you enter the medical centre it is very busy with lots of people waiting but service is spot on, staff are great and love having a laugh with you. I was taken in straight away, doctor was wonderful, nurse chatty and very efficient, fastest flu jab I have ever had. Cannot fault the service at all.
Booked over the phone, completed paperwork online. Actual visit consisted of a short wait and efficient vaccinations both flu and covid.
Acquired an appointment same day and only waited 10 minutes to be seen by a doctor. Impressed!
Was welcomed in a friendly and professional manner by reception and I saw Dr Tom Creedy, what a breath of fresh air he was polite friendly caring and very thorough. Highly recommend
My wife and I have significant and substantial medical issues and this doctor is the worst we have ever had to deal with, very uncaring, ridiculously long wait times when calling before they even answer the phone, sometimes 15 or 20 minutes, they refuse to contact you with replies when requesting scripts or services, we always have to ring again after 3 days when we get no replies.
We would definitely NOT recommend this medical centre to anyone new to Launceston, find someone else please, these guys are terrible.
Chemist upstairs needs to raise their game. My doctor was very knowledgeable from Nepal very good
I had to wait 90 minutes to see a doctor which is not too bad for a walk in consultation on a Saturday afternoon. I have waited almost that long for an appointment with doctors in the past. I was treated with respect and the doctor was efficient and friendly.
Excellent care from professionals. All staff are friendly and helpful. You only have to get one parking space for GPs, Specialist Doctors, Allied Health, Pathology, Chemist, Child Care, Coffee shop.
I’m ver happy with the care I’m receiving at the LMC. It’s a great facility with very good doctors.
We went to the walk in clinic, were told it was going to be a long wait as there were 19 people in front of us. Were there for about 2 hours which I didn’t think was too bad and was seen by a great nurse and a lovely doctor
After years of being a loyal patient at the Launceston Medical Centre, I had the most awful experience, causing me to reconsider GPs. On the 17th on January I attended an appointment to renew my mental health plan. All was good, I paid my bill and left.
That afternoon, I received a message saying that I had forgotten to settle my account. I thought this was odd, but I thought it was just a system error and let it be, thinking that it would be sorted out. Then I received more emails and text messages saying that I had not paid. I replied and said that I had paid. However, I kept receiving messages, so I sent my bank statement through which showed my transaction. They accused me of sending an old statement from another appointment I had back in October, despite the date (Jan 17th) being clearly visible on the statement. I had a phone call with the accounts manager who was absolutely rude and treated me like a criminal. She simply would not believe me when I told her that I had paid and kept insisting that the bank statement I sent was from October. When I became frustrated, she said, “I don’t know, I’m just the middle man, so many staff have been on this. ”
I sent my statement through again, because the lady on the phone said she needed more information so they could search. I did not hear anything back. Then I get another email a few days later asking for payment. It was not until I sent my statement through for the fourth time that I got a call saying that someone made a mistake, and even then, I had to tell her which reception station I went to and provide proof of my Medicare rebate. Not even an apology.
This is absolutely appalling. Because somebody failed to do their job, I was treated like a thief and had to spend hours on the phone, typing emails and finding proof. This was a consequence of pure incompetence and I did not even receive an apology. This was so unprofessional and I am never going back. I’m so glad my bank statement reflected this transaction, or I would’ve had to pay double the money.
Just a warning for everyone - always double check that your payment has been noted before you leave the Launceston Medical Centre.
5 star practice - Dr Tip, Dr Sam and Dr Sana Mahmud all treat holistically, they are thorough and knowledgeable.
Absolutely brilliant
I had a walk in appointment on Tuesday 27th @ around 3pm. Both staff were absolutely amazing. The chemist was directly above on the next level. Thanks so much as it was also a public holiday and to be treated like this is brilliant
