A really wonderful experience.
Motoring to the bridge and then sailing back under full sail.
Really interesting way to experience a true sailing brig.

Absolutely awesome experience on the Lady Nelson. The volunteers were friendly with a wealth of knowledge. Best $45 spent in Hobart for a 90 minute sail on the River Derwent. Thankyou.

I took my 4 year old niece along for an hour long sail with The Stranded Wailers singing throughout the voyage. It was such a sweet memory. The crew was so kind and friendly, even letting my niece steer the boat for a bit and giving us drinks and snacks. Thanks to all the crew for showing us an excellent time!

Sunday 22nd May 2022; a very enjoyable afternoon sail. As a passenger I was invited to "tend" the ropes, hauling up the sails and making the ropes "tidy". With the ropes I created a good approximation of a plate of spaghetti)
This was on a bright sunny day in light breezes; it DID give me a slight understanding of how difficult the job would be in poorer conditions.
The crew were helpful, friendly and seemed to have a huge wealth of knowledge.
Special shout-out to Abby, thank you!

Wind or no wind, a terrific day full of interest as you watch and take part in (if you choose) the skills of sailing a tall ship. Food was excellent; a testament to the chef skills in a small galley. Crew and trainees all lovely and helpful.

A great experience to sail on the Derwent River, on a replica of the brig Lady Nelson. The ship is staffed by volunteers, and clients get to ' help' with raising and lowering the sails. Helps one tell ones T'gallant from ones topsail. The experience helps understanding how these vessels are steered and controlled. Also an appreciation of the conditions which the crew faced in long voyages in confined and maybe not so comfortable conditions. An excellent 90 minute excursion.

A unique experience right in the middle of Hobart. A beautiful old ship, lovingly cared for by volunteers and sailed by volunteers. The crew will let you be as involved as you want in sailing the ship, handling the ropes etc, or you can just relax and enjoy the ride. The whole crew is very nice and chatty and make you feel like their first visitors. A proper tall ship, sailed like a proper tall ship. Really great value, a must do in Hobart.

Most fantastic experience today onboard the Lady Nelson. Cannot compliment the crew enough for making it the most unforgettable experience for our 3 young pirates (aged 4-7). Will definately be back!

My wife and I loved our outing on the Lady Nelson. The crew were very friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable. It was interesting to learn more about the history of the ship and take in the beautiful sights of Hobart and surrounds while sailing on the Derwent. It's also wonderful to see how well a community volunteer-based operation can be run. Thanks for a great experience!

I did a 3 day 2 night sail aboard. It was great fun and I got to do lots on board, including helping with the sails, climbing the masts and lots more. The food was also excellent!

I recently took my 9 yo son out for a surprise trip on the Lady Nelson. I live in the Hobart area and this trip has been on the wish list for a long time. We had a fantastic time on the 3: 00 pm sailing with beautiful sunny weather and a fine sea breeze. All of the crew were super friendly and participation was encouraged. Judy, the trip guide, was extremely helpful, encouraging and friendly. Absolutely loved the trip and will certainly look at going again sometime.
