Kwanjai Thai reviews
30 For how much it cost, I was completely unhappy with the taste and portions (quantity) of the food.
Tom Yum Koong costs 27.90 dollars but not filling AT ALL! It had 6 prawns and I think it should have had 8 prawns at least! And something more that makes it feel full!
The taste of the Tom yum Koong was not great either. I think the Tom yum noodle that you can buy from the supermarkets tasted better. If you want to know what their Tom yum Koong tastes like, just get a Tom yum noodle from supermarket and add 1 tablespoon of sugar. It would be quite close.
The taste of the dish that only had shellfish were okay but I was getting so sick of chewing the bits and pieces of broken shell. Every time I eat this dish, I had to spit out the food and it made my hungry tummy EVEN MORE HUNGRY!
The WORST THAI RESTAURANT I HAVE EVER BEEN IN AUSTRALIA!
그냥가지마세요.
비싸기만하고 별로 맛없어요.
조개먹다가 이렇게 열받은건 또 처음이네.
Recommend you go to That Eatdustry in Howrah and try their duck curry. So much more depth, proper lychees, rice included, cheaper.
Loooooove this place. The food is amazing, the staff friendly, chatty and helpful and it fabulous value for money
The experience was about the worst Thai food experience I have ever had. All the dishes were bland, lacking flavour, lacking main ingredients. I will never get food from there again. Not worth the $123 it cost for 3 people.
We ordered red chicken curry, snow pea prawns, crispy pork belly with Chinese broccoli and veg fried rice. The pork belly was nice, however could have had more pork, it was hidden behind all the greens. The red chicken curry was very watery and lacked any curry flavour - definitely no spice or kick like one expects from a red curry. I think they had run out of both curry paste and coconut cream, as it didn't taste of anything again lots of veg - probably the worst curry I have ever had. The snow pea prawns were very light on - 5 prawns in total with an enormous amount of veg for a $27 dish I expect more than 5 prawns. Again a bland dish and the main ingredient was hidden behind the vegetable. The fried rice was again bland. Don't waste your time or money getting food from there. I really do not know how it has the rating it has.
My new favourite Thai restaurant in Kingston! The staff are very friendly and have a wonderful menu. The Red duck curry with Saffron rice is a perfect dish with just the right amount of sweetness and heat. Highly recommend.
My family enjoyed the lightly but balancely wholesome meal that did not have a lot of MSG nor strong seasoning. The food tasted homie and gourmet for its price (the decoration and cooking justified the medium-high price). Staffs are friendly and helpful in recommending dishes.
Tricky to rate. Some was great, some less so. Service not great, slow to take orders, clear tables. Food came quickly, and was delicious. Dessert not as pictured, disappointing as no black rice, the highlight for us. Reasonable prices but they will not split bills, for this reason we will not be back, ridiculous. Nice enough
I have dined here previously and it has been good. Tonight i had the worst experience i have ever had in a restaurant. I had a table of 7 family visiting from Perth who loved Thai food. We waited two and a half hours for our food to be delivered to our table with others being served before us who had arrived after us, The excuse when i complained was they had a lot of pre ordered food. Why accept orders when you don’t have the staff to look after your table clients. I advised the table beside us not to expect delivery soon and they left. I have lived in this town all my life and will be advising all my friends to avoid this restaurant and will never return.
You need to look at your operation. I will be passing on thoughts to TripAdvisor.
My favourite Thai Restaurant in Kingborough.
The food are not that authentic but good enough if you are craving for Thai food. Some people said they are over priced. Well, it's Tasmania. All restaurants and cafe are expensive here.
Considering it's hard to find good Thai food in Hobart, I'm not complaining. Just glad that this place exist.
Lovely spot. I ordered the beef salad and it was beautiful, tasty a little bit heavy on the lemon juice but over all very happy. Presentation had real effort to it and the decor is very cute. The staff were friendly and so helpful especially with my sisters custom order. I recommend wearing an extra layer as it was quite chilly inside. Thanks for a great meal:)
This restaurant serves the most flavourless food I have ever tasted! Ordered chicken green curry, was awful and tasteless! And there was literally one thin piece of chicken on a $21 curry!
Do yourself a favour, if u really want to taste what a Thai food is, DO NOT go to this place!
Everything was pretty much as expected BUT this place has the BEST roti in Hobart, possibly the best in Australia. Flakey, doughy, buttery, PERFECT. I would come here just for the roti.
Just got take away from this place and I've never been so disappointed. Food was very bland and very overpriced for what you get. I'm being generous giving one star for this place.
Best Thai restaurant in town. Food is authentic. Service is amazing! Plus beautiful restaurant.
Got takeaway from this place for the very first time and the food was simply a joke, super bland.
Green curry had no flavour, Pad Thai was tasteless too.
We desperately need a good Thai restaurant in Kingston
First, they didn't open on time.
They said the opening hours from 11: 30, but was closed til 11: 50 so I had to wait.
And I even felt like I'm not welcomed as a customer because of the FOH lady: (
Poor service. Will not be there again.
A good place for real Thai food. The takeaway is reasonably priced and it didn’t take long to wait for the order.
Very disappointing, food portion was too less as per the price and was very cold. The food is totally different as shown in the menu. I found it worthless
Food is amazing. I've had the thai basil chili veggie dish several times and it's always excellent.
I've been there twice, at lunchtime. I can recommend it wholeheartedly. The staff are very sweet and considerate, and the food is outstanding!
