We just spent 3 incredible nights at Porky Beach with the most beautiful hosts, Alex and Russell. From the minute I booked this accommodation for a surprise 50th birthday for my partner they were just amazing! The experience and their assistance was so amazing. I was blown away the whole time. We absolutely did not want to leave. There is not a single thing I could fault about the entire experience or their hospitality. I was continually heart warmed by their love, help and hospitality. The weekend was definitely one of the best in our lives (and that’s from all 6 of us!)
Thank you does not seem like enough!
We wish we could move there!
You will not be remotely disappointed in your stay here!
Enjoy!

Air Adventure packaged a terrific 3 day escape to King Island for golf, outdoor activity and food experiences. Accommodation at Porkys Beach Retreat was outstanding with much care given to our experience by owners Alexandra & Russell. Flights via Sharp Air were extremely efficient and with the exception of a scheduling mishap for which solutions were quickly found all went smoothly. Golf at Ocean Dunes and Cape Wickham world class and thanks in particular to Tracey and Norell at Ocean Dunes who with limited facilities went out of their way to make our experience fabulous. Lobster Rolls a highlight. Cape Wickham a brilliant course but overall but maybe lacking customer culture and facilities expected of high value customers. However appreciated the courtesies of John the course superintendent.

I had 3 nights stay at porky beach retreat with my wife which was magical. Alex and Russell is wonderful host and did all possible to make our stay comfortable. Package is worth what it includes. View from the house was breath taking. We feel rejuvenated when get back home again. KI is highly recommended for scenery and food. Lobsters are very cheap at present which can be bought direct from boat. Thanks again Alex and Russell - you are wonderful.

It was such a fantastic experience of staying at Porky Beach Retreat for 6 nights. Alexandra and Russel offered us an extremely luxury house with everything you needed while you stay.
We were greeted with amazing King Island cheese platter and gourmet food. Alexandra also prepared fruit, bread, milk, Garlic, union and etc for our stay.
This house has its own private beach. We also enjoyed sauna and hot tub every night. Boys played all the indoor and outdoor games every night.
With a fully equipped kitchen and all the facilities in the house, we did feel this is a home away from home.
Thank you so much for your five star service, Alexandra and Russel!
We look forward to coming back to your house again in the near future!

We had the most wonderful time on the island and can't recommend this house highly enough. We have stayed at many spectacular short stay accommodation around Australia and Alexandra and Russ are the most incredible hosts we have had - do your self a favor - Book this house!

Why have we not heard more about this beautiful secluded island.

Fresh air straight from the Southern Ocean!

A long-anticipated seventieth birthday stay at Southern Ocean Lodge, on Kangaroo Island literally having gone up in smoke, we cast around for somewhere equally attractive, different and delightful. It had to be an island; it had to be beautiful; and it had to be easily accessible.

And we found it!
At Porky Beach Retreat on Tasmania’s splendidly pristine, blissfully isolated, breathtakingly beautiful King Island!

Hosts Alexandra and Russell provide six-star accommodation and seven- star plus hospitality in their modern, capacious, supremely comfortable house overlooking Little Porky Beach on King Island’s rugged, west coast.

The property’s 4x4, of which we have exclusive use for our four-day stay, is waiting for us in the airport carpark.

Alexandra offers us a very warm welcome to her impeccably presented and luxuriously appointed retreat.

Outside, just off the deck, warm in the glow of the setting sun, one of the island’s many wallabies regards us cautiously as Alex points out the pathway to the sheltered beach below.

Inside, there is restaurant-quality kitchen with food sufficient for all our needs and some!

A cheeseboard of everybody’s favourite King Island Dairy cheeses rests invitingly on the dining room table beside a freshly decanted local Pinot.

Upstairs everything in our suite is just so, and Alex leads our guided tour with the subtle practised pride of an exemplary hostess.

Our days are filled with her recommended scenic and artistic sites to visit - King Island really is a hidden gem!

Fresh clean air blows in from the Southern Ocean, and at night from the deck, the milky way glistens brightly across the blackness above.
What a place to stay!
Go soon!

Porky is such a special place, made all the more special by the lovely Alex. She truly makes you feel at home, and she thinks of everything. The location is absolutely stunning and could be enjoyed during all seasons - summer on the deck or cosy winter days by the fire or in the hot tub (we experienced a bit of both in September!). We stayed as a family, but it would also be great fun in a group or on a romantic getaway.

A wonderful holiday that I hope to experience again someday!

We live here on King Island and were amazingly fortunate to be able to have a "staycation" at home as we started to see the restrictions lifted post Covid-19. Porky Beach House offers more than 5 star luxury, set in beautiful natural surroundings, the sound of the ocean and the views of both the sea and the sky never tire.
We could have been anywhere in the world as we enjoyed the sauna and spa and the many luxuries this house holds. Alex's attention to detail is second to none as she hosts to perfection. Despite 3 months of "lock down" the property was sparkling clean and filled with Alex and Russell's generosity and heart. It is a special place indeed, thank-you Alex.

The decision to travel to King Island was largely determined by the choice of accommodation. We'd been warned about the winter weather and wanted to feel like we were having a special holiday even if it was blustery and we were stuck indoors. I am so, so glad we chose Porky Beach House.

Despite being the middle of winter, the weather was unseasonably warm and we spent a lot of time at the beach right in front of the house. We did not see a single other beachgoer the whole time we were there and felt we'd landed in paradise. Every afternoon we would come back to the house and jump in the hot tub, sipping champagne and watching the wallabies whilst the sauna heated up. Then we'd flick in and out of the sauna, pottering about as we made dinner or lit the fire ready for the evening.

The house itself had everything we could have hoped for (apart from a lasagne dish - we improvised!) and Alexandra had thought of everything including a wide array of board games, books and outdoor equipment. Although there was wifi we spent our time offline and screen-free which was blissful in itself.

From the moment we arrived, met with glasses of sparkling and an impressive welcome platter, nothing was too much for Alexandra. She made us feel so incredibly welcome it was like meeting a long-lost friend, someone who was so excited to see you and to ensure your stay was perfect. We've stayed in a lot of beautiful accommodation around the world, but what Alexandra and Russell offer is something else - genuine, generous and warm hospitality in an idyllic environment. We're already planning our next visit.

Alexandra, thank you so much.

Wow. This has got to be one of the best places on Earth to spend a week! The secluded location, the ridiculous views, and the luxury of the property.coupled with the wine, cheese and produce of the island - it's a very very special place. We also got great surf all week long on the deserted beach just north of the house. Thank you for a fantastic week!

The house and setting is absolutely spectacular and the recent addition of the hot tub and sauna make it perfection. The service from the King Island Escapes team is better than First Class - it is warm, friendly and absolutely genuine and nothing is too much trouble.
We visited King Island primarily for golf but Porky’s Beach House is an experience in itself. If you are planning a trip to King Island base your itinerary around availability at Porky’s Beach House.
