Ivy On Glenelg

There isn't anything more about the property and provision that has not been written by others already. We had a fantastic stay and it definitely was the highlight of our 30th wedding anniversary vacation. We are so grateful for the hospitality of Irene and David. We came to them as guests but parted 3 days later as friends. A testimony of the genuine hospitality of the wonderful people of the apple state. We look forward to coming to visit Tasmania and stay at Ivy On Glenelg again!

Lovely hosts (David, and Irene) with plenty of food provided. Room was warmed prior to arrival so were the towels. The yoghurt provided were my son's favourite! There was kids potty seat in the toilet. Coffee machine with decaf options, cookies, juice, milk, bread, homemade jams, butter,
cereal, pasta, even instant noodles provided. I had a wonderful stay. Thank you.

David and Irene are great hosts and clearly care a lot about their guests.

The room is clean and so cozy! The amenities are above and beyond, the included breakfast has a lot of choices and care has even been taken to include gluten free options.

The outdoor area is also very lovely, a little courtyard and alpacas in a neighbouring field.

Only regret is that we arrived late and will leave early tomorrow, would have loved more time to explore and rest in this great accomodation.

I'm currently staying at Ivy on Glenelg. This is my first visit and it won't be my last. Perfect location for doing the tourist thing in Tasmania. I just love the historical buildings here and this place is a bonus to be staying here. " I'll be back"

Very carefully decorated and full breakfast provided with brilliant set out of table. More like a unit than room

David and Irene are two of the most genuine and lovely people you will ever meet. On top of this, their home is amazing as well as the hospitality they provide. My friend and I (2*22yr males) stayed here and had the most lovely and relaxing experience after just finishing a 3 day hike. David went above and beyond in all matters and the breakfast was absolutely lovely. In addition, David was an absolute laugh and provided great conversation. As other reviews have said, the only fault is that I couldn't stay here permanently. Thanks David, Irene, little Ollie and all the other animals residing here, i'll be recommending your home to all my friends looking for somewhere to stay in Tassy and will certainly be back!:)

I can't praise David's and Irene's hospitality enough. Like most of the previous reviewers already said, this place is amazing. We stayed in the Doctor's Wing and wooow, what a treat. A massive apartment fully equipped with everything you need. Breakfast is provided but you'll have enough for lunch too, loads of food. I love the 1800s style and the only fault I found was that I couldn't move in for good ;-) Little helpers T2 and Ollie were a cute bonus) Thank you so much for your hospitality David and Irene. You are doing a fantastic job and I wish you all the best in the future. I highly recommend Ivy on Glenelg.

Outstanding accommodation at a good price, quiet and just a short walk to town. David was a great host, so much care had been taken in adding all the touches to make it a wonderful stay. Fresh bread, eggs, yoghurt, biscuits, cake and more all provided. Amazing!

This place is such a lovely and relaxing place to stay while you are in Campbell town. We stayed 2 nights and the hosts were wonderful and sooo friendly. We certainly will be back.

My experience is that David and the others running Ivy on Glenelg are honorable and honest people who put their guests' health and wellbeing first. I made a reservation to stay at this B & B in September 2021, but ultimately canceled my reservation upon the advice of David. Our schedule was such that we'd be flying into Hobart at 5 pm, and thus would have needed to drive after dark to get there that night. I asked David about this as we've never been to Tasmania, and he advised against it in spite of knowing he would lose our booking. Good on you David, and thank you again! We'll definitely book with you if we come through Campbell Town.

What a delightful place to stay. David and Irene were impeccable hosts: friendly and very helpful. The accommodation was cosy, clean and beautifully appointed. My need for gluten free food was catered for very well. We were provided with afternoon tea and so many breakfast options. Highly recommended

Excellent in so many ways.
Flooding and road closures meant change of plan. Found this fantastic place. Owners were friendly and couldn't do enough for us.
Bed was lovely and comfortable, towels so soft. Too many supplies to mention (various teas, coffees, cereals, breads, pasta, including breakfast. Oven, washing machine, towel warmer and even an iron. Obviously a lot of thought had gone into catering for many different likes.

Amazing B&B in a lovely restored 1800s cottage - spacious accommodation, clean comfortable and the owners thought of everything we would need! Fully stocked kitchen, amazing breakfast and lovely touches for our 5 year old with step stool and kids utensils. Also loved the alpacas and other animals out back! Would definitely recommend to anyone travelling via Campbell town 10/10!

Amazing B&B in a historic cottage (built in 1839?) in Campbell Town. We stayed in one of the wings. Kitchen/dining room was amazingly stocked with generous breakfast provided. Kid friendly touches. Beautiful inner courtyard gardens and if you explore out back, there's also alpacas (who seem to be a bit friendly) and sheep. Owners were great hosts and have done a fantastic job preserving the character of this place. Loved our stay. Fully recommended!

A wonderful place to stay, David was extremely friendly and accommodating whilst also leaving us alone for our privacy. His wife provided the most delicious breakfast and afternoon tea. The bed and apartment was very cosy and comfortable and the property is beautiful! The host’s go above and beyond to make your stay pleasant.

Irene and David are the best, and they have thought of everything. There’s an espresso machine and a great milk frother. A complete kitchen and a full fridge with homegrown eggs. A beautiful courtyard. All in an historic cottage with beautiful gardens. Highly recommended.

Definitely recommend Ivy on Glenelg. The hosts went out of their way to ensure my stay was very comfortable and the cottage was just fabulous!
